It is with heavy hearts that Matthew, John, and I share the passing of our mother, Donna Jean Moss Forgas, who passed away Monday, September 14, 2026.
Mom lived a life marked by service, and devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren, who knew her best as Gigi. She had a remarkable heart for children and spent much of her life advocating for them, serving CASA of Southeast Texas as a Guardian ad Litem and remaining deeply involved in education in our community.
But to us, she was so much more than all the wonderful things she accomplished. Her grandchildren will remember her presence whether in the baseball bleachers, having train-watching adventures, and the countless ordinary moments she made special simply by being there.
We are deeply grateful for every prayer, message, kind word, and act of love shown to our family during this difficult time. Please keep our family in your prayers as we celebrate Donna’s life.

Donna Jean Moss Forgas passed away Monday, September 14, 2026.
Donna was born December 31, 1948 to John and Carol Moss in Cleveland, Ohio. She was raised in Berea, Ohio with her brother, Kenny, and her sisters, Sharon and Florence.
Always a staunch advocate for children, Donna served as a guardian ad litem for CASA of Southeast Texas, receiving multiple awards and recognition for her work. While her children were young, she worked in the office of Homer Drive Elementary School. Donna’s commitment to improving children’s education was made evident by her continued involvement in BISD long after her children’s graduation. More than anything, though, Donna poured her heart into her role as Gigi to her numerous grandchildren. Whether she was in the bleachers cheering on her favorite baseball players, finding special spots to watch trains for hours on end, or simply listening to and watching her grandchildren dance to their favorite music of the day, Donna showed her love by her unwavering presence.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, John Moss Jr. and Carol Moss, and her father- and mother-in-law, Valentine Forgas and Margaret Forgas.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Valentine Ralph Forgas; her daughter, Megan Forgas Anderson, and her husband, Elvis Anderson; her sons, Matthew Forgas and his wife, Torrance Forgas, and John Forgas; her grandsons, Samuel Anderson, Christopher Anderson, Garrett Anderson, and Nicholas Forgas; and her granddaughters, Isabella Forgas, Katherine Forgas, and Margaret Forgas.
She is also survived by her brother, Kenny Moss, and his wife, Kathy Moss; her sisters, Sharon Nemeth Buck and Florence Accardi and her husband, Jim Accardi; her sisters-in-law, Lucy Restivo and her husband, Don Restivo, Nora Gugger and her husband, Leo Gugger, and Donna Forgas; her brother-in-law, John Forgas, and his wife, Cindy Forgas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Donna’s memory to CASA of Southeast Texas or the Alzheimer’s Association.
