Since 1986 the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament has donated millions to deserving organizations both locally and around the country. 🎣 The three fishing tournaments: KWLA, Big Rock, and Big Rock Kids alongside support from sponsors, donors, and patrons enable these annual charitable contributions.

In 1989 the Big Rock Foundation in partnership with major sponsor McDonald’s dedicated tournament funds to 4️⃣ noteworthy charities. The theme of this tournament followed suit from the 1986-87 tournaments: “For the love of special children”. With the support of sponsors and participants the Big Rock Foundation was able to donate a total of $30,000!

1️⃣9️⃣8️⃣9️⃣ Overview:

🙌🏻Major Sponsor: McDonald’s

💸Donations: $12,000 to Newport Developmental and $12,000 to Ronald McDonald House. $5,000 to the Station Club and $1,000 to the Billfish Foundation.

🏆Winner: DIAMOND GIRL with a 513.lb Blue Marlin🎣

Registration is now open for the 15th annual Reelin' for Research tournament taking place May 5-6 in Morehead City benefitting NC Children's hospital and childhood cancer research.
