Hypermobility.
A word doctors have casually thrown at me for years… like I’m a human rubber band and that’s just ✨normal✨.
After my *checks notes* 18th million round of PT, it finally makes sense:
Why I’m always a little achy.
Why my joints love chaos.
Why I’d rather do slow, controlled strength than flail through an hour of “cardio bravery.”
Why I stand like the Grinch staring disapprovingly down at Who-ville.
Turns out: stability > stretch for bendy bodies.
And honestly? This is why I coach the way I do.
Why I’m annoying about form.
Why I’m obsessed with tempo.
Why I don’t rush progressions.
Because if I do something slightly wrong…my tendons file a formal complaint for the next 3 weeks 😮💨
So… hi to my fellow bendy-jointed, rubber-bandy humans. If you’re out there personally paying the salaries of the physical therapists in your area, listen up…
You’re not broken.
You’re just built differently - and you deserve training that actually supports that. 💪
