Chicken of the Sea is FiA Crystal Coast’s version of the Tuna Run. It’s a 50k relay/fundraiser and you can run, walk, ruck or bike as many of the eight legs as you want. Shortest distance is 2.3 miles. Sign up or donate at https://runsignup.com/Race/NC/Beaufort/ChickenoftheSea. All proceeds go to Title Wave Bookmobile.
The route begins at the Bonehenge Whale Center in Beaufort and goes to the aquarium in PKS and back. You’ll be able to view and choose your leg(s) and distance(s) on the website.
You don’t have to be on a team since this isn’t a real “race,” but spending a few hours going from exchange zone to exchange zone in a car with your friends is one of the best parts, so grab some buddies and come on! There will also be several Mr. FiAs available to pick you up and take you where you need to be.
We anticipate this whole thing will finish up around lunchtime so we’ll plan to go grab a bite to eat afterwards and have our awards ceremony. We’re hoping there will be some friendly competition between FiA and F3 and there will be prizes!
