I know the sun is setting on the 25/26 season, but you’ve read it here before. OldMan Tom coined it. It’s never not cross season.
Winter is a fantastic time to work on a course. All the leaves are off. No bugs. No sweat. Bundle as necessary, or for a day like today, enjoy the unseasonable warmth. Carrie and I have this unmistakable gift of a fantasyland. It is unreal to me. A dream. We held P Hop here for the first time a few months ago. It was a longing since the very first race. I couldn’t imagine what it would actually be like, though.
This. Is. Exceptional.
I probably shouldn’t say that. It sounds conceited. Haughty. Braggadocio on display. In truth, I am just so very excited to continue developing the 2026 track. Without having gone to Europe, it sure seems to me like a course any pro would be at home on. It still has 2025 elements, with additional expected tweaks, but also a new woods section.
It will be a full weekend of racing this fall. Night racing on October 9th on a shortened course, Saturday 10-10 all day one-way, and Sunday 10-11 all day the other way. Make your lodging plans now, or plan to camp. Details as the year rolls on.
I hope you will join us.
