Switzerland of Ohio Country Club

Switzerland of Ohio Country Club Switzerland of Ohio Golf Course is a beautiful 9 hole course situated in Southeastern Ohio. He and two friends, Henry Prichard and M.R.

In the mid-1950's Keith Harper had a dream to bring golf to Monroe County. "Red" Hamilton, became tired of driving so far to play golf, as the closest golf courses, Moundsville Country Club and Crispin Golf Course at Oglebay Park, were an hour and a half away. Keith convinced his friends to help him with his plan; a farm was purchased from a local sheep farmer, excavation began, local volunteers, eager to become part of the dream, spent countless hours working to get the golf course up and running. In July, 1957 Switzerland of Ohio Country Club near Wilson, Ohio became a reality.

Good morning League Players. Round 9 is still out and still have most of the matches to be played. I’m going to delay Round 10 till next Monday till everyone can please get your matches in. It’s a tight race for second half winner and shaping up to be close for Player of the year. I’ll be posting the current standings today.

Good morning League players. Here are the pairing for Round 9. Sorry for the delay getting these out. Obviously with the weather we will have time to finish Round 8 as well. Mother Nature is not being kind to us.

MOTHER NATURE WINS AGAIN!!! Unfortunately due to the golf course already being saturated and the rains we are having this morning the golf course will be closed to carts all day today. Senior Day and Thursday night scramble will be cancelled as well. Hopefully we get a break next week and get back to normal.

Unfortunately Mother Nature wins again. With the golf course already being saturated and with the afternoon storms predicted we are going to Cancel the Par 3 tournament. Keep an eye out we may attempt to do one in September.
