Bayonne Rec Youth Flag Rugby

Bayonne Rec Youth Flag Rugby Join us for Bayonne Flag Rugby's Ninth year!! Co-ed, Flag rugby Runs through June and July. This is a Co-Ed structure and is open to all.

The structure involves 4 divisions. Owls : K-1st Grades
Falcons: 2-3rd Grade
Hawks: 4,5,6th Grade
Eagles: 7,8,9th Grade
The program is affiliated with the City of Bayonne, Department of Recreation. The game is Flag only and does not involve any tackling
Program dates are June 2 to July 23 with practice during the week (Tuesdays & Thursdays) and tournaments on Saturdays. We host our home tourna

ment at 16th Street Park on Saturday July 9th with teams from surrounding towns attending. Registration is $80 and kids will receive uniforms as part of their registration. Rugby is one of the fastest growing and safest sports for children and does not differentiate based on size, age etc as everyone gets to run with the ball.

Last week's tournament was a huge success as a team, we're looking to build on our past success and grow as a team moving forward. That being said, we are training at our regular times this week, Tuesday and Thursday, 6pm at 16th Street Park. Weather forecast looks good so we will get 2 quality sessions in to prepare our players for this weekend's tournament.
Saturday we will be traveling to the Crim Road Soccer Fields (1300 Crim Rd) in Bridgewater NJ. We can expect a 9 am kickoff and currently have a great weather forecast for the day.
Many apologies to any parents who traveled to the wrong location saturday. Unfortunately the league changed the location of the first tournament last month, well after the initial flyer was printed and distributed.

Tomorrow is the first tournament of the 2026 Season!!! If you're not excited, check your pulse. Our players have worked hard these last two weeks and learned a lot to be ready for tomorrow. Let's let the league know we're from Bayonne!!Tournament is being hosted by East Brunswick & Montclair Rugby Clubs at Dideriksen Park/ Heavenly Farms Park, 440 Dunham's Corner Rd, East Brunswick NJ 08816. Matches kick off at 9am and run til noon. As we have to distribute uniforms and collect reg forms (if not previously submitted) , arrive NO LATER than 8:30am. Please leave plenty of time for the drive as we may encounter shore traffic. All players MUST have Registrations Forms and Fees handed in or they will NOT be eligible to play. Remember water and sunblock, each team has 3 30 minute matches scheduled, we need our players hydrated and fresh for competition. We'll be on grass and/or turf, so bring cleats if your player has them. The hosting team will provide snacks and refreshments for players. A final game schedule and field layout will be provided via TeamReach once it has been provided to us by the hosts. You can find TeamReach here:

Good Morning Pirate Parents.
We are two days away from our first tournament so attending training tonight is critical, especially so considering the number of new players in the program.
We are aware of the weather forecast for the evening; as such we will be reducing the intensity and duration of training and focusing on match prep.
Training will end at 6:45.
We are aware of the possibility of storms in the area this evening. While they are forecasted to arrive after the end of training, in the event of lightning or thunder we will immediately cancel training and leave the field.
Players that have not submitted forms and fees will not be eligible to play in Saturday's tournament.
By next week, we will be moving the majority of our communications to Team Reach. You can download it below:

Thank you to all the parents and players who attended our first training session of the 2026 Season!!!
We had great weather and a wonderful night of training with over 60 players in attendance!!!
The coaches agree, yesterday was the best first session in the history of the club.
There is still plenty of room to join, come be a part of Flag Rugby.
