As of today, Hudson's On the Spot is ceasing guiding operations - but NOT in a sad way.

Jim always wanted his friends to do great things on the water, so I am happy to announce that through Jim's death, some awesome businesses (and captains) have arisen. I am so proud of these guys - and so thankful for their help the past few months!

Had some tough weather on trip #2 to the rainy, but still managed to have a great time with the walleyes.... Time to head home and get everything set to go for spring trolling!! Sure was nice to be back on the water;)

Another GREAT trip to the Rainy River!! Here is my biggest @30", lots of numbers and big fish are just showing up... Wish I was here all week. If the river holds up and I can get away ill definitely be back next weekend!!!!;)

Packing for a trip to the Rainy River, spooling up the rods, unpacking jigs.... Can barely sit still!!!! Can't wait to get in the boat for the monster walleyes;) anyone else headed to the river for the pre-spawn action??

Hello everyone, Tommy Hicks here... as my first post on here I can honestly say where do I start. Missing and thinking of Jim everyday, but also knowing what he would want me to do is what has kept me going. Guiding has started back up, Josh and myself have been busy bringing clients out for lakers and now have been targeting the bay more now for salmon... Jim has hounded me for two years to get my Captains license and had Josh and I signed up to do so in the beginning of march. I know Jim is very proud right now as we both are Captains along with my Father Tom Hicks sr...
We are starting to get buisness details in order and gearing up for spring advertising... Jim's wife Hannah is one of the strongest women I have ever met. All she has had to go through and she still takes time and goes out of her way to see that everything keeps moving forward... She has said from the start she wants one thing and that is "tell me that you will fish on?" so we will do just that...
Lastly I want to thank everyone for all the support getting through this, friends, family, everyone who has helped out and supported Hannah, and the entire fishing industry...

Thank you for everyone's patience while I figure out all of the moving pieces involved in transitioning this business. If you have guide trips this week or next week with any of the guys, we'll make sure you are well taken care of. I will also post Jim's service info for all that are interested in attending.

All of the memorial pieces and tributes are absolutely overwhelming. I am so blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people. -Hannah
