We will be closed on Sunday, September 6th, thru Wednesday, September 9th for the Labor Day holiday. A bit longer than normal, yes, but I will be heading out of town and meeting with a specialist in hopes of getting my neck issue fixed. We will reopen on Thursday, September 10th at 10am.

What happens when someone brings in a super dirty bike? First, we do big frowny faces. Then, we break out the hose and wash it off.

Bringing a bike in crazy dirty like this, it REALLY doesn’t help us. So please, wash your bike first. Yes, we do a clean-up of the bike during a tune-up, but still.

Back in the day, I was the Production Manager for American Classic. We made hubs, headsets, bottom brackets, seatposts, wheels and bottle cages. Part of my job was to make, assemble, overhaul and warranty hubs. Throw in putting these hubs into wheels and I’m VERY familiar with this hub design!

This wheel is getting an overhaul and a different freehub body (from Shimano to Campagnolo). Pulling these apart is super easy especially when you’ve done it a thousand+ times. Clean everything up, fresh grease, a dash of Tri-Flow and it’s all ready for another 100,000 miles.

When brake cable noodles get bent like this, it’s time to replace them. They don’t like being bent back and will break. When they are bent like this, it can cause braking issues. A simple replacement will keep things running smoothly.
