So true
When you react, you let others control you. When you respond, you are in control. Bohdi Sanders
You can’t always control what happens to you or the situation in which you find yourself, but you can always control your own thoughts and actions. Always maintain control over your thoughts and actions; don’t give your power away to others.
When you react to a situation or to another person’s words or actions, you are giving that person control over you. When you react, you let others control you. When you respond, you are in control.
Think about it, when you react, you are allowing someone else to guide your actions just like a puppet reacts to the puppeteer moving the strings. The puppet is moving, but it is the puppeteer who is controlling his actions. The puppet is not in control, but is merely being manipulated by the actions of someone else.
Don't allow other people or events to control your actions. Always control your own actions. Don't react to someone else; assess the situation and respond accordingly. While this may seem like nothing more than semantics, there is a huge difference.
