Mark your calendar Lumberjack fans for Tuesday September 15 as Barney's Bar & Grill will be having our Give Back Day!

Come in and enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner and BCA Athletics will receive 20% of all sales! All you need to do is what you do three times a day! Eat! Also includes drinks so come on in and get a cocktail or a mocktail!

In our schools first ever varsity volleyball contest we fell to Carsonville-Port Sanilac in three sets. The young Lumberjacks squad fell 25-4, 25-11, 25-8 to fall to 0-1 in the Big Thumb Conference.

BCA returns to action on Thursday when they play host to the Vikings of Akron Fairgrove. Action begins at 6pm and all Lumberjacks volleyball home games will be played at the Bay County Community Center (800 John F Kennedy Drive, Bay City, 48706).

Another historic week is upon us as our Varsity Volleyball team will see its first action tonight on the road at Carsonville Port Sanilac!

Also on Tuesday is middle school football scrimmage at Akron Fairgrove. Coach McLaughlin has the boys learning the ropes and ready to see another team in front of them! Scrimmage starts at 6pm.

On Wednesday our middle school volleyball season kicks off as we host Akron Fairgrove at 6pm at the Bay County Community Center (800 JFK Drive).

On Thursday night, the varsity volleyball team will host its first ever home contest, also against Akron Fairgrove!

Friday night will be game three for Team 1 of Lumberjack football...they will travel to Peck seeking their first win in school history. This is our first ever Big Thumb Conference football contest!

Bay City Academy football is competing on its own for the first time, breaking away from a co-op with Bay City All Saints to build a program from the ground up.

Thursday Night Hero

SKYLER LEISENTRITT, BAY CITY ACADEMY

The junior delivered a milestone that will last forever, hauling in the first touchdown catch in Bay City Academy football history. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound tight end snared a 26-yard scoring toss from Ryan Olson to give the first-year Lumberjacks their first trip to the end zone.

“He was pretty pumped,” coach Rob McDaniel said. “That will mean so much to him. I’m sure the story will change 100 times when he gets older.”

Leisentritt finished with two receptions for 63 yards. He also registered a safety at defensive end in the Academy’s 20-18 loss to Au Gres. He drew 72.4 percent of the 6,313 ballots cast in the poll, outdistancing runner-up Charlie Hempton of Cass City at 20.1 percent.

We had an awesome week one of school at BCA! We congratulate the new members of the Dance Team, The Lumberettes! We accomplished a years worth of work when our guys took the field last Thursday in Au-Gres!

Congratulations to our BCA Dance team for helping us provide another layer of excitement to our budding athletic program!
