Excited to announce that on July 13th Battle Creek Central will be hosting NFL running back Chris Evans for a camp targeting middle school football players and rocket football players. Campers will get a chance to interact with Chris and participate in football drills for a couple hours at the Stadium. Huge shout out to Jay Matthews for helping get this setup for our community, proud to partner with him on getting this done for our kids. Registration link is below. GREAT day for Bearcat Athletics today with the Bearcat Open golf scramble! Thanks to the generosity of MANY players and donors, we were able to raise over $9,000 in profit for our kids! I can’t say enough THANK YOUS to all who participated, and more importantly to the volunteers who worked many hours to make this event possible! Couldn’t have done it without Stacie Wright Forward, Christy Goins, Jerry Miller, Kathy Williams Adamonis, Christine Lajoie, Jen Bentley and Brooke VandePolder.

It’s always amazing to me how generous people are when it comes to doing good things for our kids! Thank you to ALL who gave today!!

Dear Wes,

My heart is a grateful one this morning because of yours. On behalf of Battle Creek Public Schools, I accepted an AED donation from your mom and your basketball coach to keep at our football stadium. Because you lived, coaches all over Michigan have a heightened awareness around having this type of equipment available in case of an emergency. I would like to thank you for making it possible for our school to be chosen for this donation.

Also, just wanted to tell you that I am impressed at the way you continue to bring people together. I received the donation and your annual golf outing, and it might have been one of the largest I have ever seen! I even got to meet Bill Simonson from the Huge Show! People were having fun, smiling, hugging and maybe most importantly, opening their wallets to support your cause! Not because you’re gone, but because you’re memory, influence, impact are still alive. I hope my life impacts people the same way that yours has.

One more thing. I’m sure you know this, but your mom is very proud of you.

Really feeling the love today! Jr Bearcat Camp begins MONDAY, and last night I received a call from alum Kent Peterson telling me that he had collected funds from a group of other alumni and friends to offer SEVERAL SCHOLARSHIPS to kids in our community that want to attend camp but don’t have the funds available right now. SO… parents… if you are in this boat… please send me a pm and I will make sure your player gets registered for FREE! Obviously, limited number available so first come, first serve. MUST be a BCPS student to receive scholarship, as this is alumni money being used.

Special THANKS to the group of hard working men that are generously ensuring that the next generation of Bearcats get the same opportunities to love the game that they had!

PLAYERS: you may turn in any of the football requirements at the athletic office anytime between 8am-4pm now through Friday. Paula is ready to help you. If you go see her and have trouble getting into the building, her number is 965-9536. She takes lunch between 1-2pm, fyi. As a reminder, your paperwork and money is due by Friday. Please dont make me chase you down over the weekend. I will be busy raising money to fund your program all day Saturday and will be in coaches meetings all day Sunday planning for camp. Your consideration is much appreciated! Sooooo looking forward to going back to camp with you!

FOOTBALL STARTS MONDAY!!! Varsity will leave for Clear Lake Camp at 8am, JVA/JVB will practice at the stadium each day from 3-7:30pm!!
