Positively Indelible

May the morning light remind you that even after all you’ve been through, there is still warmth, joy, and possibility ahead.

The heart of Positively Indelible is a belief that our lives hold possibility, purpose, and the opportunity to leave a meaningful mark.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re sharing a personal part of what that means to our founder.

In April 2023, she discovered a small lump during a self-check, just four months after her annual visit. She returned to her doctor and was diagnosed with breast cancer within two weeks.

Today, she is grateful to be cancer-free.

As she faced a mastectomy and the uncertainty that followed, she asked God for strength to get through it. Alongside that prayer was a commitment to use the time ahead with intention—to encourage others, build connections, and do work that matters.

That commitment is part of the heart behind Positively Indelible.

This month, we invite you to make room for your own care. Talk with your healthcare provider about the breast screening schedule that is right for you, including mammograms. If you notice a new lump or another breast change, contact your provider promptly—even if your last appointment was recent. Knowing your body works alongside recommended screening.

For anyone navigating cancer, recovery, or loss, we recognize that awareness month can carry many emotions. You do not have to turn your experience into a lesson or a story of strength to deserve care and connection.

Life is precious in its ordinary moments, too: a conversation with a friend, laughter around a table, time to simply be.

If you’ve been putting off an appointment, consider this a gentle invitation to make the call.

You matter. Your health matters. Your care deserves room in the life you’re living.

Sometimes being closed off can look like independence. Underneath, it may be a quiet promise to ourselves: “I’m not letting that happen again.”

If you’ve been burned before, being cautious makes sense. But your past doesn’t get to decide how every new relationship will unfold.

You can learn from what happened without closing yourself off to what could happen next.

Your time, trust, and tenderness are valuable. You get to choose who receives them. Look for people whose actions show kindness, consistency, and respect. Let trust grow as they show you who they are.

And give them a chance to know who YOU are, too. Your humor. Your interests. Your quirks. The things that light you up. You don’t have to tell your whole story to show up as your authentic self.

Opening up carries some risk. But with thoughtful boundaries, the possibility of friendship, support, laughter, and love can be worth the uncertainty.

Say hello. Accept an invitation. Let someone know you enjoyed their company. Take one small step toward the connection you want.

Keeping the lid tightly closed leaves little room for anyone to get to know you.

Keep your boundaries. Bring your authentic self. Let new people earn your trust through their own actions.

You don’t have to fling the lid off. Start with a little twist. 💜

Try giving yourself a compliment that has nothing to do with being useful.

“I’m curious.”

“I have a wonderful laugh.”

“I notice beautiful things.”

“I’m fun to spend time with.”

When you spend so much time helping, organizing, and caring for others, it’s easy to describe yourself only by what you provide.

There’s a whole person behind that to-do list. She deserves to be noticed.

Welcome to the kitchen! If your week hasn’t gone according to the recipe, there’s still something good we can make with today.

Ingredients:
• One manageable next step
• A generous scoop of self-forgiveness
• A little flexibility
• Whatever energy you have available

Directions:

Start where you are. Clear one corner, step outside, or return the message you’ve been putting off.

Adjust the recipe to fit your day. A smaller batch still counts.

And if something goes sideways? Take a breath and decide what comes next. Even experienced cooks spill the flour.

A little love from Kammie: No need to wait until Monday. A fresh start can happen on a perfectly ordinary afternoon.

Be the thermostat, not the thermometer, Sister. You don’t have to match the mood in the room. Set the tone. Bring the warmth. 🔥

Being good at something doesn’t mean you have to keep doing it forever.

Maybe you’re the planner, the peacemaker, or the person who remembers every birthday and brings the extra chairs.

You may love parts of that role. You may also be tired.

It’s okay to say, “I’d like someone else to take this one.”

You’re allowed to make room for a version of yourself who gets to show up and enjoy the gathering, too.

Ingredients:

One honest look at how far you’ve come

A generous helping of self-compassion

A handful of small, achievable steps

A pinch of courage

Several people who remind you who you are

Plenty of patience

Directions:

Begin with one small promise to yourself—and keep it.

Gently fold in the lessons you’ve learned, without allowing past mistakes to define you. Add courage slowly; it does not need to arrive all at once. Let encouragement simmer, and remember to celebrate every bit of progress.

Confidence is not something you either have or don’t have. It is something you rebuild each time you trust yourself enough to try again.

Serve with your head held high—and the reminder that you were never starting from scratch. You were starting from experience.

You are not behind because your life has taken an unexpected direction.

Some paths include caregiving, illness, loss, starting over, changing dreams, or simply needing more time than you thought you would. These experiences may change your timeline, but they do not diminish your worth.

A meaningful life is not measured by how quickly you reach certain milestones.

You are still becoming. You are still moving. Your path is allowed to look like your own.
