We are based from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and travel all over the world to most places where regular wrestling wont go. BRIEF HISTORY OF WKW
Est 1956™
First owners were Mr & Mrs. Mark Thibodaux In January 1986. They decided to open there own wrestling company out of there own state. After watching the WWF'S product of the 80’s ,Mark got an idea to make his own company a real global or world wide co
mpany, traveling all over the world. First picking the name (WORLD KHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLIN) IN 1986-1987)
After Ted Turner created WCW, he heard of the small promotion and instead of facing a lawsuit they
changed the name to (WORLD WRESTLIN KNOCKOUT)
That didn’t last more than a year, and the shows were really slow, they changed the name to (WORLD KNOCKOUT WRESTLIN)© 1988-2002. After getting a few stars from Mid South Wrestling and a lot of major talent, nothing really stuck till Mrs Thibodaux suggested they bring in mixed martial artists in as well and boxers and clash with pro wrestlers and see what happened. The plan worked well until Vince McMahon came knocking and bought out Thibodaux and most of their talent. During this time Trevor James was working for the company. In the ring he captured 4 WKW World Titles and was the last world champion
After WKW's doors were shut down until 2009 when Lacy Thibodaux, Mark's daughter gave Trevor a call and said he needed to help her get talent for the new WKW, which was starting out in New Orleans. The shows started a slow dull and grind to a halt, Then in 2011 Mark Thibodaux comes out of retirement to help his daughter run the company, And thus the WKW is reborn.
