Hello, everyone! I’m excited to introduce myself to those unfamiliar with my ISR story.

Fall 2007 someone emailed me this video. Often referred to as the Miles video. The young child is Miles. During Summer 2007 my oldest son(age 3 at the time) had a non-fatal drowning incident without injury. I saw this video and knew my children needed these skills. Louisiana did not have a certified Infant Swimming Resource Instructor. I became the 1st Louisiana ISR Instructor February 2008.

I am dedicated to teaching Baton Rouge infants and young children critical self-rescue and water survival skills. My passion is helping families build confidence in and around the water through safe, individualized instruction that emphasizes both skill development and safety.

Every lesson is designed to meet each child where they are, creating a positive learning environment while developing life-saving abilities that can make a difference in an emergency. I believe that water safety education is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children and their families.

I’m grateful to be part of a community that values child safety, education, and lifelong learning. I look forward to connecting with parents, caregivers, fellow instructors, and community partners as we work together to help keep children safer around the water.

Thank you for following my journey and supporting the mission of drowning prevention—one child, one lesson, and one family at a time.

Repost from Dr.Beachgem10

Drowning is not what you see on TV. It’s silent. No thrashing around.

Drowning happens in seconds, and in those seconds everything changes… forever.

Please take water safety seriously. Put as many layers of protection in place between your child and the water (door locks, door alarms, pool fences, etc). Learn CPR. Get water safety lessons. Don’t take your eyes off them for a second.

My toddler recently started ISR swim lessons to learn water safety. If you're on the fence about ISR, here's my honest review.
