By all accounts, Jamestown shouldn’t work.

Yet for more than thirteen years, these bluffs have remained freely accessible for people to hike, climb, explore, and experience a beautiful piece of Arkansas.

In a time when access is often lost, Jamestown Crag stands as proof that a different model is possible. One built on trust and local-stewardship.

The most rewarding part has been watching a grassroots community grow around this place.

🚨 Exciting News 🚨

We’re grateful to share that the Jamestown Crag Foundation has been selected as a recipient of a 2026 Rocky Talkie Search & Rescue Award!

Since the beginning, our goal has been simple: keep Jamestown Crag accessible, care for the land, and be prepared when things don’t go according to plan.

This grant will help support the training and equipment used by the volunteers of Nomads Cave & Cliff Rescue - folks who have spent countless hours, and personal funds, learning the skills needed to respond in some of the most remote and challenging environments our state has to offer.

From the bluffs of Jamestown Crag to complex cave systems throughout the Ozarks, we’re thankful for the opportunity to serve our outdoor community.

A sincere thank you to Rocky Talkie for supporting volunteer rescue teams across North America! We are honored to represent Arkansas - The Natural State among the list of recipients.

The 13th Annual King of the Crag returns to Jamestown Crag on October 10, 2026.

What began as a small grassroots climbing competition in the Arkansas Ozarks has grown into one of the region’s most unique outdoor events, recently earning statewide recognition with a Henry Award from the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage & Tourism.

But at its core, King of the Crag remains exactly what it has always been: a gathering of climbers, friends, families, and outdoor enthusiasts who share a love for adventure and a passion for protecting special places.

Whether you’re competing, spectating, camping, or simply enjoying a fall day at The Crag, we’d love to have you join us.

More than a competition. More than a fundraiser. More than a decade of community.

Trail Day at Jamestown Crag 🌿

Humid? Absolutely.
Beautiful? Always.
Worth it? Every bit of it.

Big thanks to everyone who showed up today with tools, gloves, w**d eaters, and willing hands to help care for this special place.

From clearing trails and moving rock to hauling gear through the woods, this is the kind of work that keeps Jamestown accessible, beautiful, and free to visit.

Places like this don’t sustain themselves. They’re sustained by people who care.

I wanted to personally invite everyone out to our next Trail Day at Jamestown Crag on Saturday, May 30 from 9AM–2PM. We’ll mainly be w**d-eating the Main Bluff Trail, flipping rocks back along washed areas, and helping clean up the trail corridor along the bluff.

This work makes a huge difference in helping keep this place raw, natural, and accessible for everyone who enjoys it. Whether you climb, hike, or just love Jamestown, we’d love to have you out there with us.

Bring gloves, water, eye protection, and any w**d-eaters or trail tools you’d like to contribute. Lunch will be provided.

Just direct message and let us know you’re down! Try to RSVP by Wednesday, May 27 so we can plan for lunch. Hope to see y’all out there!
