The ladies just finished up a 5 week fall league at MCC. ND was by far the smallest school in the league, comprised of mainly Monroe County schools, but the ladies got some good work in against the bigger schools. This was a great chance for some of the younger girls to get some quality swings in against some stiff competition. Big shout out to the Dads that stepped up to coach the ladies over the 5 weeks (especially Brian and Matt) and to the rest of the parents that got their daughters up to Rochester every Sunday!

NOTRE DAME 7 BYRON-BERGEN 3

Notre Dame’s Loretta Sorochty hurled a complete game, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out five to help her team to a league victory which avenged an April 23 loss to the Bees.

The Bees had the bases loaded with two outs in the bottom of the sixth trailing 5-3 when the Irish made a critical defensive play to stop a B-B rally. A ground ball back up the middle ricocheted off of the pitcher Sorochty and ND shortstop Katie Landers scooped it up and made the out at first just in time.

Seven other ND hitters collected a hit in the win, with Sonji Warner and Sophie Johnston each blasting home runs to help their team’s cause. Johnston’s was a solo shot and Warner’s was a two-run bomb. Hannah Tenney and Emma Sisson each had big two-RBI base hits in the game. Sorochty scored two runs to help her own cause.

ALEXANDER — It was a Senior Night to remember for Alexander’s fifth-year senior Samantha Sawyer, who brought the fireworks to the Trojans’ celebration on Tuesday night.
