April 16, 2020. Pease get the word out to kayakers that may kayak on the Broad River (also known as the Rocky Broad River) on Hwy 9 between Black Mountain, NC and Bat Cave, NC. There is a HUGE HEMLOCK TREE FALL TOTALLY ACROSS THE RIVER in the gorge section of the river BELOW Lower Flat Creek Road.

This section is frequented by kayakers when a big rain event occurs. This huge hemlock is down and stretches TOTALLY ACROSS THE RIVER between the third and fourth falls in this section of the gorge.
