About Us

Dark Horse Mx is a private training facility located in Smithville, just outside of Austin Texas. We open our facility weekly for select ride days, giving the public access to our little slice of heaven. Our goal with opening to the public is to expose more riders to coaching and bring access to another track to central Texas. We have 4 tracks set across just under 30 acres. The back tra

ck, which was built and designed by V-Mac Tracks is a mix of sand and clay. The back track is vet and beginner friendly while still offering a challenge for pro level riders. The front track was intended to be a training track. The soil has more sand than the back track so it breaks down quickly, simulating race conditions quickly. The front track takes rain well and is always a good option during the rainy winter season in Texas. Think scaled down Supercross. Safe for young kids, fun for adults. We also have a kids track, just for the little ones


About our Model

Our intention with Dark Horse Mx is not to be a public motocross track. Our goal is to expose the public to coaching, which in turn creates sustainability and longevity in the sport. Dark Horse Mx was a vision created by Cody Haverfield, which has been allowed through motocross coaching and building relationships with local tracks such as Spoaks, Murphys Mx, & Austin Motocross Park. Bringing vision to reality would not be possible without local Texas track owners allowing Dirt Lab to thrive and operate at their tracks previous to the creation of Dark Horse. Dark Horse would not be possible without the Pastereau Family and Diet Coke Dave.

GP track will be mint Sunday September 6th. We will stick to our summer schedule for the time being. Full prep national track on Saturday, and full prep GP on Sunday. No prep or water for the national track on Sundays until it cools off and we get some rain.

We will have the National track full prep for this Saturday. GP track will get a light prep for Saturday and full prep for Sunday. It’s hot and dry so we are devoting the bulk of our energy to one track each day to ensure 10/10 conditions
