Cobras were back in action at Frank White Sports Complex in Lees Summit.

Game 1 matched us up against the Lees Summit Titans. The Cobras got down 2-0 after the top of the first with a bit of sloppy play. The bats came out alive again, scoring 5 runs of our own own in the bottom of the first. We continued the self inflicted wounds in the top of the second, giving up 4 more runs. We responded with 3 more of our own in the bottom of the 2nd. With the score 8-6 after 2 innings we never looked back. The pitching and defense tightened up and the bats stayed hot, cruising to a 13-6 victory in game 1.

Game 2 was a showdown against Velocity Academy out of Belton MO. The bats stayed hot in game 2 jumping out to a quick 3-0 lead. Pitching was more efficient this game and backed by a much cleaner defensive effort. The Cobras stormed to a 13-3 victory and finished the day 2-0.

The Cobras (5-1) next action will be Sunday. We will have to wait for games to finish today to determine our seeding, opponent and game time.

The Cobras kicked off the fall season this past weekend in the 11u AAA tournament at 3&2.

During pool play on Friday evening we played a near perfect game defeating the Ottawa Raptors 10-0.

Game two was a matchup against Precision Baseball out of Lenexa. We got off to a shaky start, getting down 4-0 after the top of the 1st inning. The boys battle back all game, scoring in every inning, to capture a 9-6 victory. After pool play finished on Saturday we earned the #3 seed going into bracket play on Sunday.

Our first bracket play game was against the Ottawa Raptors again. We jumped on them early offensively and never looked back. We secured an 11-3 victory to send us into the semifinals.

Our semifinal matchup was against Team KC from Overland Park. We came out with an early 4-0 lead but quickly gave it back as we struggled to find the strike zone. After 9 walks through the first two innings we were down a couple runs. The boys battled back and regained the lead late in the game. With the game tied late we headed to extra innings. We came out on the wrong side after extra innings and lost 11-10, ending our weekend.

The Cobras (3-1) will get back in action this weekend in Lees Summit. Updates to come, go Cobras!

Wyatt capped off a successful weekend in Ohio by securing the tournaments MVB (most valuable banana)! He played in the first youth banana ball tournament and had the opportunity to meet/practice with the Savannah Bananas.

Congratulations to Cooper and Mason. They were part of a second place finish in the National All State Championships while playing for the Southeast All Stars from Florida. They played 7 games over the course of 4 days, without a loss, until the championship game against Indiana.

Next up, Wyatt will be traveling to Ohio tomorrow for Banana Ball with the Lenexa Bananas. We’ll keep you posted!

Busy few days coming up for the Cobras. The fall season kicks off with our first practice Sunday, can’t wait!

Mason and Cooper were invited to guest play for Team Southwest (Florida) in the USSSA National All State Championships Thursday- Sunday. Pool play starts Thursday at 8:00 AM and Friday at 10:00 and 2:00. Bracket play begins Saturday morning. All games are at Mid America in Shawnee.

Wyatt has the opportunity to travel to Ohio, on Monday, with the Lenexa Bananas and play in the first ever Banana Ball tournament. If you have seen banana ball this will be wild and I can’t wait to hear about it!

Good luck this weekend to the guys playing some extra ball and go Cobras!
