2025 AMERICAN RANDONNEUR AWARD

The RANDONNEURS USA Board of Directors is pleased to announce the 2025 American Randonneur Award was awarded this morning to Rob Hawks ( #2515).

Rob has been a member of Randonneurs USA since 2004, volunteering and supporting our membership at large with various roles both on and off of the Board of Directors. He has been the Regional Brevet Administrator for San Francisco Randonneurs since 2007, is the current Chairperson of the Brevet committee, on the Membership Committee and also served as Regional Brevet Administrator Liaison (RBA-L) for 4 years from 2021-2024. Additionally, Rob was also part of the inaugural Gravel Committee in its first year.

Rob truly exemplifies what the American Randonneur Award is all about, serving both our community in the US and as a representative of the US in other countries. Rob has also represented Randonneurs USA at the annual Audax Club Parisien (ACP).

As we wind down 2025, we wanted to thank you for a wonderful year of Randonneuring and ongoing support of Randonneurs USA.

We also wanted to take this opportunity to extend our sincere gratitude to the Board of Directors for their service which include Gardner Duvall, Dave Thompson, Bill Bryant, John Lee Ellis, Dawn Piech, Charlie Martin, Chris Argo, Noah Swartz and Emily O'Brien.

As we wind down and take a look in the rearview mirror of 2025, we hope you reflect and share all the interesting and fun randonneuring adventures you experienced in 2025.

It is the season of various holiday celebrations, get-togethers, and cozy evenings by the fire. We hope you have a safe and beautiful end to 2025, on the bike and off.

ELECTION RESULTS:

We are pleased to announce that Emily O'Brien ( #3597) and Noah Swartz ( #13453) have been elected to serve a 3-year term (2026-2028) on the Board of Directors. Chris Argo ( #11707) is the Regional Brevet Administrator Liaison (RBA-L) for 2026.

Randonneurs USA would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to both Matthew Bird ( #14124) and Dan Colvin ( #8295) for their willingness to serve and be slated on the ballot.

Thank you to Bill Bryant ( #7) and Gardner Duvall ( #5770) for their service on the board from 2023-2025. Both will be stepping down at the end of this year.

We also extend our gratitude to both Don Hamilton ( #2) and Tim Sullivan ( #28) for managing this election.
