Does anyone have an old F250 or comparable that they want to sell to us for a deal?

Today, on my way home from Tractor Supply an older gentleman pulled out into Barnardsville highway straight in front of me. I tboned his truck at 50 miles an hour. He was very kind after the fact. He begged my forgiveness, apologized profusely, told everyone that would listen “Its my fault!” I am sooo glad that I managed to swerve to hit his truck bed and NOT his door/cab. I think he’s ok.

The good:
Everyone was SUPER KIND. People seemingly came out of the wood work to help. A young man handed me a cold water. I was sobbing. A sweet woman helped me find my prescription glasses that had flown off my head.

The emts from the fire department took real good care of me.

Neighbors directed traffic while we waited for emergency vehicles.

I have been released from the hospital with a very sore neck and mild concussion but no broken bones!

The bad: my Old truck Bertha with the rebuilt engine is dead. I loved her because she was mechanically sound and had no truck payment. New trucks are sooo expensive and I don’t have any ego about what my truck looks like.

The other guy’s insurance will likely pay some for Bertha but she was a 1999 rebuilt ford f250 v10 with a salvage title. Sooo, likely not a bunch of money coming my way. I figured id throw it out there to see if anyone was willing to make a deal on an old truck they arent using as much anymore. Id love to get back to hauling food and shavings for the equines of hoof and horn farm.

* Thank you to people sending me links to trucks. Here is our wishlist:
1. Older to keep the price down
2. Must have 4wd
3. Must have goose neck hitch and towing package capable of hauling 15,000 lbs. we need a tryck that could help evacuate if we had to.
4. Must have cruise control. This has to do with my lifelong arthritis. Its super painful for me to hold the pedal down for long hauls without cruise control.

We had SO MUCH fun at our skills exhibition this Sunday! I didn’t get pics of everyone. We had over 60 people in attendance and 23 riders.

Our skills exhibitions are like if a music recital and a martial arts belt ceremony had a baby. Each rider gets to show off their skills and test for the level of ribbon. This is awesome because it allows students to move at their own pace while also always challenging themselves to improve.

We teach the horsemanship curriculum from HorseSense Learning Levels & we LOVE it!

Anout 3/4 of our students actually choose to skip the skills exhibitions in favor or just growing in their skills in their lessons without an audience and that is great too!

Personally, I grew up showing but realized as an adult that I hate it when people watch me ride. I am an introvert that likes to hide from the world and just spend time with my horses away from people. So, we make plenty of special places for those riders too!

Dolly Parton was like a living Patron Saint of the Smokey Mountains. We are all heartbroken
by her passing. Her blessings will live on long past her.

Today, lessons are Dolly themed. To honor her creation of the imagination library we are doing reading riding relays using three books that we think Dolly would have loved. And ofcourse we will be listening to Dolly Parton.

Today, a parent shared something that completely melted my heart. They told me their daughter said:

*“I feel confident because of Hoof and Horn Farm.”*

THAT is why we do what we do.
While we love building strong, kind, and compassionate young men too, this world has a unique way of grinding down young girls.

Teaching young women how to stand tall, know their worth, and step confidently into who they are is the single greatest contribution I will ever make to this world.

I’m so honored to give these girls the tools to believe in themselves—and the resilience to dust themselves off whenever life knocks them down. 💛

Hello Tinkerbell and welcome home Ziggy!!

*** going to pick up a horse from summer camp is adorable. We love working with Camp Glen Arden. They love their horses so much.

I love getting to see all the artwork from kiddos that were decorating the front of his stall and it was so sweet how one of his beloved handlers actually teared up saying goodbye to Ziggy.

We agree he is a special guy and we are excited to bring home Tinkerbell this season. Its like our horse child made a friend at camp yhat gets to come home with him.
