Does anyone have an old F250 or comparable that they want to sell to us for a deal?
Today, on my way home from Tractor Supply an older gentleman pulled out into Barnardsville highway straight in front of me. I tboned his truck at 50 miles an hour. He was very kind after the fact. He begged my forgiveness, apologized profusely, told everyone that would listen “Its my fault!” I am sooo glad that I managed to swerve to hit his truck bed and NOT his door/cab. I think he’s ok.
The good:
Everyone was SUPER KIND. People seemingly came out of the wood work to help. A young man handed me a cold water. I was sobbing. A sweet woman helped me find my prescription glasses that had flown off my head.
The emts from the fire department took real good care of me.
Neighbors directed traffic while we waited for emergency vehicles.
I have been released from the hospital with a very sore neck and mild concussion but no broken bones!
The bad: my Old truck Bertha with the rebuilt engine is dead. I loved her because she was mechanically sound and had no truck payment. New trucks are sooo expensive and I don’t have any ego about what my truck looks like.
The other guy’s insurance will likely pay some for Bertha but she was a 1999 rebuilt ford f250 v10 with a salvage title. Sooo, likely not a bunch of money coming my way. I figured id throw it out there to see if anyone was willing to make a deal on an old truck they arent using as much anymore. Id love to get back to hauling food and shavings for the equines of hoof and horn farm.
* Thank you to people sending me links to trucks. Here is our wishlist:
1. Older to keep the price down
2. Must have 4wd
3. Must have goose neck hitch and towing package capable of hauling 15,000 lbs. we need a tryck that could help evacuate if we had to.
4. Must have cruise control. This has to do with my lifelong arthritis. Its super painful for me to hold the pedal down for long hauls without cruise control.
