The #7 team will be taking the Labor Day holiday weekend off from racing action, but will be hard at work preparing for the upcoming ‘World 100’ at the famed Eldora Speedway. The 56th edition of the storied ‘World 100’ will take place at the Rossburg, Ohio speedplant from September 10-12.

On Thursday and Friday at the “Big E,” a pair of $12,000 to win, split-field preliminary programs will be held with drivers racking up valuable points each time they hit the racetrack. Those point totals will then set the lineup for Saturday’s traditional six heat races, which will lead into the B-Mains and the 100-lap crown jewel headliner. This year’s version of the ‘World 100’ will pay a whopping $100,000 to the winner.

𝘽𝙄𝙂 𝙒𝙀𝙀𝙆𝙀𝙉𝘿 𝘼𝙏 𝙁𝙇𝙊𝙍𝙀𝙉𝘾𝙀

Justin Smith and his #7 team invaded Florence Speedway from August 6-8 for the 44th edition of the North/South 100. A total of 59 of the best Super Late Model drivers from around the country were in the pit area at the Union, Kentucky speedplant for the three-day crown jewel spectacular, which kicked off with a pair of split-field, $6,000 to win preliminary programs.

On Thursday night in the opener, Justin qualified tenth fastest in his group before finishing fifth in his heat race and nineteenth in his 25-lap feature event. In a similar show on Friday evening, Justin timed in twenty-second quickest in Group B during the qualifying session prior to running tenth in his heat race and sixth in his B-Main. At the end of his 25-lapper, the Barbourville, Kentucky ace had improved three spots en route to a twenty-first place showing.

When Saturday rolled around at Florence Speedway, a standing-room-only crowd was on hand to witness the $75,000 to win North/South 100 grand finale. Justin advanced four positions during his heat race to finish an impressive fourth - only one spot away from transferring into the 100-lap headliner. He then started on the front row of the B-Main and ran second until only two laps to go. With only the top two transferring, Justin wound up seventh at the unfurling of the checkered flag and unfortunately missed out on the North/South 100.

Overall, a great weekend for the Justin Smith Racing team against a stacked field of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competitors! Made both prelim features and nearly transferred into the big show. Got to thank everyone that helps out on our car including all of our great partners and product supporters 👊🏼

Justin Smith Racing turned in an impressive performance on Friday night, July 31 in the 19th Annual “Hugh” Junebug Rowland Memorial at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky. After timing in fifth quickest overall during American Late Model Iron-Man Series qualifying and finishing third in his heat race, Justin Smith rolled off from the outside of the fourth row in the 30-lap headliner. Justin then blitzed past four competitors during the contest to place fourth at the checkered flag behind only $6,000 victor Adam Stricker, Rod Conley, and Colten Burdette!

Great run for the #7 team and we’ll look to carry the momentum forward into this upcoming weekend at Florence Speedway. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again preside over the 44th edition of the North/South 100 at the Union, Kentucky speedplant from August 6-8.
