Baraboo V Thunderbirds Falls To Edgewood Varsity Crusaders In Low-Scoring Affair

Both teams were strong on the bump on Tuesday, but Edgewood Varsity Crusaders was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-2 victory over Baraboo V Thunderbirds. Brody Bjorklund started the game for Baraboo V Thunderbirds and recorded 18 outs.
Baraboo V Thunderbirds was right in it until Edgewood Varsity Crusaders reached on an error in the tenth inning.
A single by Tony Steiner put Edgewood Varsity Crusaders on the board in the top of the first.
Baraboo V Thunderbirds took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Cyrus Mahoney walked, and Brady Bauer hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Jack Bishop singled down the left field line, which helped Edgewood Varsity Crusaders tie the game at two in the top of the second.
Bjorklund started on the mound for Baraboo V Thunderbirds. The starting pitcher gave up eight hits and two runs over six innings, striking out five and walking three. Bauer took the loss for Baraboo V Thunderbirds. The reliever went four innings, surrendering one run (zero earned) on one hit, striking out two and walking one. Liam Bishop stepped on the bump first for Edgewood Varsity Crusaders. The pitcher gave up four hits and two runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking two.
Bauer and Mahoney were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Baraboo V Thunderbirds. Owen Rogers led Baraboo V Thunderbirds with two hits in five at bats. Baraboo V Thunderbirds turned one double play in the game.
Edgewood Varsity Crusaders amassed nine hits in the game. Steiner and Mikey Hackworthy each collected two hits for Edgewood Varsity Crusaders. Steiner and Bishop each drove in one run for Edgewood Varsity Crusaders.
