AMG Weekly Roundup!

This is a new thing we’ll be doing each week to showcase all the fun we’ve got going on at AMG, and oh man this week was a good one!
From South Wall multi pitch, to clients leading, to classic Sea Cliff sessions, we sure had a great mix of guiding this week!

Let’s start with these shots from of Liz at the South Wall. A strong climber from Tennessee, this was her first time on sticky New England granite! They explored Otter Cliffs and South Wall, working on up-down transitions.

Next we’ve got Matt who booked 3 days in a row! He was already a strong trad leader but wanted to work on refining his multi pitch systems and also lead some classics. He lead at Otter and the South Wall, including some more intricate trad leads such as Guillotine 5.10a and Connecticut Cracks 5.11a. Something you can only do after building trust with your guide.

Last but not least we’ve got some shots by from the sea cliffs! This crew went out to South Otter Cliffs and enjoyed a variety of different pitches, some base managed, and some above the ocean. This includes the classic Eagles Lair 5.1. A gentle route that starts just barely above the ocean, a unique experience that’s still very approachable for brand new climbers!

If you have a passion for climbing, gear, and conquering big cliffs, this camp is tailor-made for you. With a smaller camper-to-guide ratio, you’ll receive maximum individual attention and tackle more complex climbing routes.

Distinguished as one of the few climbing camps in the U.S. guiding teens on multi-pitch climbs and imparting the skills of traditional lead climbing, this camp offers an opportunity for proficient participants to lead routes after demonstrating their skills on “mock” leads.

The primary objectives are to introduce traditional lead climbing skills and engage in climbs with greater commitment compared to RockPro II or III. The emphasis is on refining efficiency in climbing techniques while fostering friendships, independence, and strength amidst the stunning outdoors of New Hampshire and Maine.

We still have availability on our July 12 Camp, and we’d love for you to join us! Call 207-866-7562 or book online to register today!

Rock Pro III is a sport climbing camp for teens, that makes a perfect progression from indoor climber, to crag expert. It’s especially popular for kids who are on comp teams, but you don’t need to have any lead climbing experience to participate.

During a Rock Pro III, campers will get professional instruction from AMGA certified guides on all things sport climbing, including:
- Proper clipping technique
- Cleaning various anchors (quick clips, chains, rappel rings etc).
- Building self equalized and pre equalized anchors.
- How to safely clean wandering sport routes.
- Stick clip 101
*Campers who come with previous sport climbing experience can often learn more advanced skills such as rappelling, or sport multi pitch skills*

We offer Rock Pro III in Rumney NH (world class sport climbing destination), and Clifton (hidden gem sport climbing destination in Maine). Multiple dates are offered throughout the summer. Check out our website for more details! Link in bio.

Want to rock climb this summer?

Whether you’re a first timer, climb in the gym regularly, or you’ve got decades of experience, we’re here to help you reach your goals and have the best experience possible when you visit the park.

Here at Acadia Mountain Guides, we offer half days (morning/afternoon), full days, and evening sessions. Half days are 4 hours and full days are 7 hours, but there’s no pressure to stay the whole session if you’re spent. We guarantee that each person will get to climb at least 3 routes during a half day session.

We’re firm believers that anyone can climb, kids as young as 3 and adults as old as 80 have had a great time out on the cliffs with us. No prior indoor or outdoor climbing experience is necessary, but if you have experience, a session at AMG can look like anything you want it to. Want to try harder climbs, learn technical systems, climb one of our longer multi pitch routes, learn to lead? Tell us your goals when you book and we’ll help you make it happen!

To book your session with us, call +1-207-866-7562. Our schedule fills fast so don’t wait! The rocks are warm and our guides are already out and about! Will you be joining us this summer?
