Some adventurers we’ve been up to lately! It’s been a busy summer. Camps are in full swing! Rock Pro 4 (pictured on Balanced Rock) just wrapped up a week of learning to lead trad, and Rock Pro 1 and two are out at the cliffs as we speak.

This week we also had a few sessions in Clifton. A family of repeat AMG clients came to climb with us at Big Chick Hill, the crown Jewel of Clifton! We also taught a gym to crag sport climbing day at Parks Pond Bluff, one of the highest concentrations of moderate sport routes in the Downeast region! Clifton is an under-appreciated resource, we copious amounts of easily accessible sport, trad, top rope, and multi pitch climbing on beautiful Lucerne Granite, all within a 30 minute drive of Bangor! Fun fact, Lucerne Granite is what Bubble Rock is made of, which is how we know it was carried by glaciers to the summit of South Bubble!

We also had a few of our youngest rock climbing clients recently! We frequently get asked if we have an age limit, we will take clients as young as you feel comfortable taking climbing! This week we had both a 3 year old (Pic 3) and a 2 year old climb with us at Pebble Beach! While you know your kids better than us, we hope this serves as inspiration to start them young!

We also had a client with 14 years of experience book two full days with us! He even did some leading at the South Wall and Great Head!

Does this all sound fun to you? Want to have a similar adventure or dream up something totally new? Call 207-288-8442 to book your guided climbing session today! No experience is necessary, and rental gear is included in the price of the session! We look forward to climbing with you!

That’s right! We are offering a Kalymnos trip on October 18-25!

Do you want to spend a week sport climbing, on beautiful limestone, without having to worry about food planning, crag navigation, or trip logistics? Well, we’ve got you covered! This year IFMGA guide Jon Tierney and apprentice rock guide Morgan Poppenberger will be In Kalymnos offering an all inclusive, week long sport climbing trip! Curious? Read the plan below!

The focus is on learning the nuances of sport climbing and developing the skills to lead with confidence. Depending on your experience, instruction may include clipping and managing the rope, efficient movement and pacing, route reading, lead belaying, cleaning anchors, lowering and rappelling, assessing routes and conditions, rescue skills, and developing sound decision-making at the crag. There will be plenty of opportunity to practice these skills on real routes while receiving personalized coaching from your guide.

Kalymnos offers an incredible setting to progress these skills . Expect quality, well protected sport climbing on beautiful limestone, spectacular sea views, and a huge variety of routes that make it easy to tailor each day to the group. Whether you are relatively new to sport climbing or looking to refine your existing sport-climbing skills, the goal is to leave the island climbing with greater confidence, independence, and a deeper understanding of the sport.

All-inclusive except for travel and dinner meals, so you can focus on climbing, learning, and enjoying the island. Your guides will take care of the logistics and climbing experience while you settle into a week of great rock, warm water, good food, and unforgettable days in Greece.
And when the climbing day is done, the adventure doesn’t stop. Spend your late afternoon or evenings swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, relaxing on the beach, enjoying a meal in a seaside taverna, or simply taking in the laid-back rhythm of island life. Kalymnos offers the perfect balance of focused climbing days and time to unwind.

This intensive, hands-on course is designed for healthcare professionals, guides, rescuers, and experienced outdoor leaders who want to develop technical rescue and mountain medicine skills in one of the most spectacular climbing environments in the Northeast.

Participants will build proficiency in:
• Technical rock movement and climbing systems
• Rope management and advanced knot craft
