We will avoid the Eliot mountain trail and stay on Asticou for another .6 miles to reach the Thuya Gardens. If you have never been to the gardens, I highly recommend this hike; the gardens are lovely this time of year. After we wander the Gardens for a while, we will travel the .3 miles back to the portion of the Eliot Mountain Trail that we ascended and descend .7 miles back to the parking lot for a total of about 3.8 miles. This hike should be relatively easy; a nice break in the middle of the summer to stop and enjoy the flowers.
