Come help us close out our 40th anniversary of racing strong, before we go silent during the offseason.

No racing this weekend, but next Saturday Night September 12 we will return with a busy championship night to finish off our 40th anniversary season.

We want to turn the highlight back on to you. The greatest race fans around, the Banks Bullring faithful. Comment to us your favorite picture you snapped all summer long from Sunset Speedway. Show everyone else the fun to be had. We just might use it in the posters leading up to championship night.

Might be a tad grey and gloomy of a week. But that blue sky and sunshine will return soon enough.

As a reminder no racing is planned for this upcoming weekend, and our next scheduled event is September 12 for Championship Night!

Exciting evening with the Iron Giant Street Stock Series last night during the Doug Walters Memorial. Huge Count of incredible Street Stocks arrived in Banks.

Congrats to Collen and team for the IGSS win.

Collen Winebarger hops in the seat for Tyler Pagel and secures the win after a hard fought battle @ Sunset Speedway last night!

David Sutton and Chase Berkeley brought the field to the green for the 40 lap feature around the Banks bullring. Berkeley would jump out to the early lead, with 4th place starter Collen Winebarger hot on his heels. Berkeley and Winebager would race door to door for the firs 17 laps before the first stoppage of the race. After the restart, it was more of the same. Battles throughout the entire field made for one heck of a race. On a late race restart, 6th place starter, Dustin Wilkinson threw his hat into the ring and made the battle for the lead a 3 car race, bringing Joey Tardio and Mason Myers with him. Berkeley would hold off Winebarger at the line, but would ultimately be DQed due to a ride height rule infraction in post race tech. Collen Winebarger was awarded the win, with Joey Tardio coming home in 2nd, and Mason Myers, in his first race back with the series since July 11th, placed himself on the Penske Racing Shocks Podium!

Home turf defended.

“Hollywood” Greg Walters adds another Doug Walters Memorial win to his collection. In a race that’s ran in memory of his father, the 97 has proven multiple years as the one to beat on this special night.

Congrats to Greg and the entire team on the big win. This is also back to back I-5 Late Models wins at Sunset for the NW Racing Veteran.
