Three years ago, I walked into a Bangor girls basketball program that, since 2013, had won 18% of its games, including a 0-21 season and had not won a district game since 2018. I am proud to say each year we improved, and last season had the most wins since 2012/13, and the first district win since 2018. The team broke a 15-game losing streak and a 13-game losing streak to their rivals. Also proud to say the varsity team has been academic all-state the last two seasons, the young ladies have won both on and off the court. The success on and off the court starts at home with the families. To the players and their families, thank you for your efforts. Hardly a day went by that I did not enjoy coming to practice or a game. I also want to thank my family and our coaches for putting in the time: Coach Oliva Brown, Marc, Ricardo Garcia, ‘Liyana, Jason, Patricia Baker, and Jen. Also, I want to thank the office staff of Megan and Melissa, who were always quick to reply to requests, and the school staff of Fred Smith, Lynn Johnson Tammy Wilson, Doc, and Rickyna Luteryna.

I look forward to supporting the next coach and supporting the players and families.
