We'd like to congratulate the Outdoor Track team on a fantastic spring season!
Hard work culminated at the Penobscot Valley Conference (PVC) Championships (May 30) and Class B State Championships (June 6), with some outstanding performances:
Boys 4x800m Relay (Ben Hoskins, Mason Read, Beckham Rand, Gavin Rogers) — PVC & State Champions in a thrilling come-from-behind victory. John Bapst has now won 4 straight PVC titles and 3 of the last 4 State Championships in this event!
Gavin Rogers (Soph.) - PVC & State Champion in the open 800m with a school record 1:57.58. Teammate Beckham Rand (Jr.) earned 2nd at PVCs and 5th at States with a personal-best 2:00.01.
Girls 4x800m Relay (Emily Conlon, Lilly Fish, Elise Ouellette, Maggie Robichaud) — 1st at PVCs, 2nd at States (10:12.09).
Evan Babcock (Sr.) - 1st in the 200m and 2nd in the 400m at PVCs; 3rd at States in the 400m (50.43 - a new school record!!)) and 7th in the 200m (23.32).
Hadley Oliver (Sr.) - PVC Champion in both discus and shot put (4th and 2nd at States). Her discus throw of 122-2 broke a 43-year-old PVC meet record!
Maddie Allen (Soph.) - 4th in Triple Jump and 7th in Long Jump at PVCs; 8th and 9th at States in a highly competitive field.
Boys 4x400m Relay (Tucker Mitchell, Beckham Rand, Gavin Rogers, Evan Babcock) — 1st at PVCs, 3rd at States. Girls 4x400m Relay (Ella Butler, Maggie Robichaud, Ella Williams, Stella Goetz, Lilly Fish, Elza Cahn) — 6th at PVCs, 7th at States.
The season isn't over - both 4x800m relays, Evan Babcock, and Hadley Oliver have all qualified for the New England Championships this Saturday at Noble High School in North Berwick, ME!
We are so proud of every athlete on this team - for their results, their work ethic, their improvement, and the kindness and respect they showed each other and their competitors all season. They are an incredible group of student-athletes!
