📢 Election Filing Notice for the Town of Bancroft
Residents interested in serving their community are reminded that the filing period for the upcoming municipal election is now open.
Positions to be elected include: • Mayor • Council Members • Recorder
Candidates wishing to have their names placed on the ballot must file the appropriate paperwork before the filing deadline at the end of June.
Candidate filing forms and additional election information are available through the Putnam County Clerk's Office at the Putnam County Courthouse.
If you have ever considered serving your community, we encourage you to learn more about the process and consider running for office.

📣📣 Good morning, Bancroft! 📣📣

We have made some progress toward our goal of expanding our facilities! We have seen God move in mighty ways through this project.

🟢 We will begin clearing the underbrush next week. This will be early to mid week on the week of 5/18. 🟢

In order to closely align ourselves with regulations and best practices, we are clearing our wooded lot in Bancroft in stages. This first stage will be the underbrush. Anything that can be tackled with a brush hog and a flail mower will be cleaned up. Existing fallen timber will be gathered up as well. No large trees will be cut at this time.

We have a licensed and insured tree service company coming as their schedule allows. They say they can start early to mid next week and anticipate that the job will take one week total.

This multi-stage process is more expensive, but it allows us and our engineering consultants the time and information needed to make sure we get everything right. The Lord has set aside this property for a reason and we want to make sure we take full advantage of the opportunity.

UPDATE: Service has been restored to Bancroft, although it appears that Black Betsy may still be experiencing low pressure. We have no information regarding that service

It's our understanding that even if WVAW doesn't notify, if your water service is interrupted or you have low pressure, you should practice a boil water advisory for 24 hours while testing is being completed by WVAW.

Coming out to vote tomorrow? If you live in Black Betsy (this includes Drew Street and Rockwood Drive), you will NOT vote in Bancroft but rather at Poca Middle School. Only those who live within Bancroft's town limits will vote at the Fire Station. Call the County Clerk's office today if you need clarification based on your address.
