The machines here at Walcroft were silent today. Instead, we fired up the processing equipment and celebrated Luke's harvest this fall. 60 lbs of burger processed and packaged.

Nothing beats this, or the freezer full of good aim!!!

Putting the finishing touches on the last few rifles of 2025. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to all the new customers as well as those who've continued to trust our family's business. Hopefully many of you have been prepping for the hunting season that is finally upon us!!! Seeing your successes in the early season antelope hunts has been awesome! In an effort to dig out of my shadow ban, I thought it would be fun to see what rigs your running, Walcroft or not, and maybe a quick tale about why its your go-to hunting rig.

Mine is new to me this year and absolutely geeking out about putting it to work. Im a die hard 270 dork and with the new bullets available (finally!!!!) I put together this modern version. A short 20", carbon fiber, 7 twist Ackley Improved/Improved is worthy of the 100th anniversary of the ol' cartridge. Looking forward to carrying this across the western states for years to come.

Let's see what ya got and why they get the blood flowing as the temps drop!!!

This one was a bit of a Skunk-Works project. Many years ago competition shooters blended the Smith and Wesson frame with a C**t Python barrel. When approached to build one, I quickly found out that there is next to zero information on building one. After lots and lots of math, special fixtures built, and even a spare barrel built to "prove" my work, it's finished. Was very demanding, but rewarding to have built what is quite possibly the only "Smolt" to have been produced in this century.

On the 100th anniversary year of the ol 270, it only seemed fitting to build one capable of squeezing out every last drop of potential in a modern flair. 160 Hammer Hunter lathe-turned coppers doing 2920 out of a 7 twist 20" carbon fiber barrel is strong enough for anything on the continent.

Took the 6 Arc out yesterday and played with the F-Class shooters. Eastern Nebraska Gun Club has a great facility! This is a great way to understand how your system performs in the wind and changes throughout and extended series of fire.
