Half Moon Fields Quail Hunting 2025-26 half day rates are:
40 Birds $700
50 Birds $850
60 Birds $1,000
A day is 100 $1,500. 40-60 bird hunts from $480-$700.

Self guided hunts Monday through Thursday with a 30 bird minimum at $9.00 per bird.

If you are looking for a place to book a hunt or just want to try somewhere different I would be happy to host you and your friends. All hunts are based on the number of birds you want available and for up to 4 guns. Half day hunts are priced as follows:
40 birds $700
50 birds $850
60 birds $1,000
All day is $1,600 with 100 birds.
Please realize prices are not for birds harvested but the number of birds released for your hunt.

It’s been a good season. Very fortunate to have good dogs, birds that are a challenge for the hunters and clients who appreciate what I do and how I do it.

I’m shutting down after my last hunt tomorrow. Desperately need to do some burning and will hopefully be able to get everything done next week. Shortened the season to burn and provide better cover/habitat for next year.

Speaking of next year I’m already booking hunts from many of my regular groups. If you know when you’d like to hunt feel free to reach out.

I’m cutting back on my bookings for this year and shutting down a little early. Reasons for both are simple. Taking fewer bookings due to the physical demands hunting places on an aging body. The early shutdown is to try and get some controlled burns in.

While I’ve not made a public announcement about opening the calendar for bookings I am always ready to schedule a hunt or hunts for your group. I have shutdown want to thank everyone who helped make the 2023-24 season special and successful. Habitat improvements are in the works for the 2024-25 season. Controlled burns and drum chopping will occur before the end of the month. I will keep everyone updated on the season opener and any changes for next season. Again, thank you!

While it’s always a great day when you’re quail hunting sometimes I’m privileged and get to experience something really special. Today was one of those days. Recent rains left standing water in an area birds tend to fly into. While pointers aren’t known for liking water Sam showed that you can’t stop a good dog from hurting hard and with heart. I was amazed when we got to the point and found what is pictured.

The 2023-24 season ends for me on 3-17-24. I’m not booking anything else for this year but have had several clients booking for 2024-25. I appreciate clients who don’t mind booking in advance to insure they have the days they want on the calendar.
