Loyal to a fault!!!!
Loyalty is one of the most admired traits, yet too often it’s measured by time. We hear echoes of “34 years on the job,” “married for 40 years,” or “22 years at my church.” Instantly, we respect the commitment. We smile at the longevity!!!
But let’s be clear: time does not equal happiness, and it does not guarantee respect. Many stay in places out of fear. Fear of being forgotten, rejected, or forced into new experiences. So they remain, simply for the sake of staying.
There is a season of grace, YES!! A time to confront your spouse, your boss, your pastor, to make your situation known and see if change can come. But once you’ve prayed, sought God’s guidance, and the issues remain unmoved, it’s time to prepare for transition. Move toward a space where your presence is valued, where your voice is heard, and where God’s love flows freely. You shouldn't be waiting for respect like a Scooby snack. Lol
I’ve taken criticism for walking away from challenging spaces, but I refuse to stay where my voice fades into the distance. I refuse to stay where respect is absent. If that means moving around, then so be it.
My advice: Speak up. Make your feelings clear. Be patient as you wait for change!!!!!!
But if no one is willing to mend the relationship, respect you, or even listen.....then s**t, flee, move around in the words of Rick Ross's old flame! 😊
