Baltimore Community Rowing Juniors

Baltimore Community Rowing Juniors Baltimore Community Rowing Juniors is a year-round training and racing program for middle and high school athletes from the Baltimore metro area.

Practices focus on fitness, personal responsibility, and teamwork to create well-rounded scholar athletes. BCR Juniors is a year-round rowing program bringing students from Baltimore City together with public and private school students from the Baltimore metro area. BCR Juniors serves an average of 150 student athletes a year in a diverse, supportive, and inclusive rowing community on the banks o

f the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River. Student athletes from Baltimore City are served through Reach High Baltimore, founded in 2011 as an outreach program of BCR Juniors. Reach High Baltimore provides middle and high school students from Baltimore City Public Schools with access to high-level training and racing in the sport of rowing in addition to fee assistance, transportation assistance, and summer job opportunities. By leveling the playing field for athletes of color, Reach High Baltimore and BCR Juniors strive to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive access point to the sport of rowing for all athletes. Shout out to our first this week, Arka! Arka has been rowing with since he was in middle school, working hard to develop in both sweep and sculling. His hard work paid off at his first regatta as a novice, , where his Novice + took home third place! Now, as Arka rounds out his novice year he has been rowing in the Men’s U17 4X. We are proud to present our athlete of the week this week, Imogen! Imogen is currently one of the youngest rowers on the high school team yet one of the fastest. Sha has worked hard this season to make it on to the JV team as an 8th grader and we are excited to continue watching Imogen find her speed. Go Imogen!
