We held our 599/under 9-ball tournament yesterday. We had 51 players. This was a winner break format with longer races (8 & 6).
We had a lot of familiar faces along with some new ones. Without doing a Calcutta and having 3 different side pots instead, we were hitting balls by 11am. Going through the winner side was Adrian Warden (who lives out of state, but comes up to play when his time allows) and Lyle Ihmann (one of ur newbies). They met up in the hot seat match where Adrian would be victorious with an 8-4 win over Lyle. On the 1-loss side we had a few of our regulars battling it out to see who would get to the promise land. Aldrin Manreal, Harsh*t Kedia, Jaydev Zaveri, Ruben Soto and Maksym Lavrynenko. Ultimately, Maksym would make his way to the finals after beating Jaydev 6-5, Harsh*t 6-3 and Lyle 6-1 to face Adrian in the finals. They discussed chopping it up, decided to play, played to 2 games, the score was 1-1 and then they went ahead and chopped. Great shooting everyone!!! Might I just add, Adrian played with a house cue all day 😂

Finished 7/8th out of 48 players in the 540U tournament— held by On The Hill

Not the easiest weekend after hurting my knee playing street hockey the day before, but had to grind through and adjust.

Lost to both the eventual finalists Erick Rivera and Robert Vannatta —both shot great!

Also my first tournament traveling and competing without my parents—definitely a different experience.

Big thanks to Lee and Loye for running a smooth tournament, and to Marie for sweating all my matches as always—means a lot!

Saturday, we held a 540/under 9-ball tournament which drew out 47 players. It was fast paced, the players were hitting balls by 11:30 and the finals were over at 7:30. There was plenty of action to be found, but when the smoke cleared there was only 1 guy at the top.
Erick Rivera came out to play! He went undefeated all day, but not without a few nail biters. Along with Erick, Albert Fooks also came out to play. He also went undefeated where he would face off against Erick in the hot seat match but Erick prevailed in a hill hill battle to claim the spot. Albert would then face Rob Vanatta who Albert had put on the 1-loss side earlier. But Rob got the better of Albert with a 5-1 victory to put Rob in the finals against Erick. Rob would have to double dip Erick but Mr Speed Shooter Erick wasn't having it lol, he beat Rob 5-1 to claim the victory. Great Shooting!!
I'd also like to give a little shout out to Tanvee Vallem, this girl is fearless! She finished 7/8 in a pretty tough field. Way to go Tanvee!!
