We step into the 2026-2027 The Junior League of Baltimore year with gratitude to the outgoing Board of Directors: Treasurer Aften Beeler, Secretary Alicia Bello, Esq., Community Impact Vice President Dr. Lauren Johnson, Nominating Chair Christine Peterson, Esq., Finance VP Robyn Myers, Membership VP Sheraie Darby, and now Past President Oana Brooks, Esq.. Thank you for your leadership and service in furtherance of The Junior League’s mission of advancing women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. We are excited to welcome our incoming President,Lee Barry, and President Elect Dr. Lauren Johnson, and look forward to their vision and building on the success achieved.
Congratulations to the 2025-2026 honorees, whom we celebrated at Thursday’s Annual Dinner: Young Woman Leadership Scholarship winner, Nara Anusonti-Inthra, for her outstanding leadership during her high school years; the 2026 Woman of Distinction, Senator Emerita Jill P Carter, for her service and inspirational leadership; the Mary Goodwillie honoree,Diana Deems for her exceptional service to the JLB, especially in the Finance and Membership area- under Diana’s leadership,The Wise Penny, supporting the Junior League of Baltimoree’s revenues have skyrocketed; the Peggy Waxter Sustainer Spirit Award winner, Rebecca Knoll, for all of her hard work and dedication; the Annapolis Award winner, Christi Owiye for her commitment to community service beyond her work in the JLB; the President’s Award honorees, Aften Beeler and Christine Peterson for their selfless work and always going above and beyond; the New Member of the Year, Brittney Longley, who shines with good ideas, thoughtful observations, and a willingness to both learn and lead; and the Committee of the Year, our Partnership, Service, & Advocacy Committee for working to deepen the JLB's impact in our focus areas of period poverty, food insecurity and housing insecurity. Whether making and donating healthy meals to the Govans community fridge, or packing thousands of period products for distribution to schools and women's shelters, or providing fun and joy to kids in the neighborhood, the members of the Partnership, Service & Advocacy Committee showed up and got to work.
