SOAR ADHD

SOAR ADHD Each of our programs promotes friendships, increase self-confidence, and develop life skills.

SOAR is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation serving youth and young adults with ADHD and other learning challenges through SOAR’s outdoor adventure camp programs, GAP year program, and community-based services. SOAR is a summer camp and GAP year program dedicated to providing experiential education, life skills development and adventure programs to those diagnosed with learning and attentio

n issues. Created in 1977 by an adult with learning disabilities, SOAR provides fun and successful experiences so that participants may gain greater awareness of their own strengths and improve self-esteem and confidence. Our programs offer adventure activities, for beginners and beyond, located across the country’s most scenic places. These incredible locations include the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, the sunny Florida Keys and wild and wonderful Wyoming. Campers participate in exciting adventure activities such as rock climbing, horseback riding, SCUBA diving, llama treks, whitewater rafting, surfing, and much more! SOAR staff and instructors provide a community where campers and participants are celebrated for their gifts, where they come to make friends, and where they have the freedom to be themselves. Everything we do at SOAR is based upon helping campers and participants experience success and providing them with the tools and strategies to continue building upon that success. They will develop self-confidence, life skills, and build friendships while experiencing a variety of exciting adventures.

The first day of camp is always one of our favorites.

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes before campers arrive! Staff getting organized, cabins ready, gear set up, and plenty of excitement as we prepare for the summer ahead.

This is a little glimpse of Day 1 at SOAR North Carolina.

SOAR is an adventure-based summer camp for youth with ADHD and learning differences, where campers build friendships, confidence, independence, and skills that last long after summer ends.

The countdown is over! Camp is officially underway!☀️

🏔️ $10,000 in Additional Financial Aid Available for Colorado This Summer

Great news for families considering SOAR this summer!

Thanks to a generous $10,000 grant from the Indigo Oak Fund, founded by members of the Andrus Family, we've been able to increase the financial aid available for students enrolling in our Colorado Alpine Quest course.

This support reflects a shared belief in the life-changing impact of experiential education and the strengths of students with ADHD and learning differences.

If cost has been a barrier, now may be the perfect time to explore whether SOAR is a fit for your teen.

Colorado Alpine Quest combines adventure, community, and real-world skill-building in an environment designed for students with ADHD and learning differences. Participants build confidence, independence, friendships, and strategies they can carry home long after the summer ends.

Financial aid is awarded based on demonstrated need, and just 3 spaces remain available for this summer.

Happy International Children's Day! 🌎💙

As we prepare for campers to arrive, our Llama Trek staff are also hard at work in training. Our staff is learning lots about how to best support youth with ADHD and learning differences! Every part of training is focused on creating an environment where campers can grow, explore, and succeed.

Llama Trek is designed for campers ages 8–12 who are ready for adventure, friendship, and opportunities to build confidence in the outdoors with support from mentors. It’s such a fun and unique camp experience, we can’t wait to share it with our campers!
