We are proud to recognize Zachary Reed as our Honorary Captain for Friday night’s Military Appreciation Game.
Zachary joined the Army National Guard in 2005 at just 17 years old while attending Unity High School. After graduating from Unity in 2006, he completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia.
During his 18 years of service, Zachary served our country both at home and overseas. He deployed to Iraq from 2007–2008 with E Troop, 105th Cavalry, and later served with the 1st Battalion, 128th Infantry Regiment of the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
His service also included Hurricane Irma relief operations in Florida in 2017, a deployment to Afghanistan from 2019–2020 as a Squad Leader with Bravo Company, 1-128th Infantry, and security support in Washington, D.C. during the 2021 Presidential Inauguration.
Zachary medically retired from the Army National Guard in 2023 after 18 years of honorable service.
Today, he continues to serve our community through his work and coaching within the Unity School District. Zachary lives in Balsam Lake with his wife, Jodi, and their sons, Findley and Declan.
We are honored to welcome back one of our own and recognize Zachary Reed as our Honorary Captain for Military Appreciation Night.
