Janean Murphy Golf Janean is Director of Instruction at Meadowbrook CC in Ballwin, MO offering private & group instruction to the membership. Janean turned pro in August of 2004.

Janean played competitive high school and college golf. Followed by a successful career as The Woodlands HS girls golf coach from Aug 2008-May 2004. She became a LPGA Class A teaching pro in 2008 and has been continuing to broaden her experiences & love for the game of golf ever since. She has several certifications such as OP36, TPI, US Kids Golf Certified Coach, Tathata Golf Certified Movement S

pecialist, Ping & Titliest Certified Club Fitter. Janean loves golf and people. Being an LPGA Teaching pro is the perfect way to spend her day helping people enjoy a game that has given her so much. From 3 years old to you are never too old - any age, any skill level, any gender, as long as you want to learn - Janean is the teaching pro for you. Small class Saturday for OP36 but these juniors put in the work. On the range we focused on foot work and then some tempo with our putting. I can’t wait for the PGA JL matches to begin. So many of Meadowbrook’s juniors have been training with me since February! It’s going to be a great summer.

What a fantastic week of hosting the TrueSwing Experience in STL!

I loved meeting the guests and having Erika here for the week. Today we had two special 1/2 day classes for the members at Meadowbrook and their guests.

The weather cooperated (no rain) and the practice facilities/course were in amazing shape. Thanks Meadowbrook CC for hosting this week.

The first two days with Erika and the True Swing Experience with eleven wonderful adults have been fantastic. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed hosting them at Meadowbrook, and I’m eagerly anticipating the final day with this group tomorrow. Friday is a special day dedicated to the Meadowbrook members and their guests.

A Robbin also made a nest in the rafter of my front porch at the same time as the Finch. So, we had a bird maternity ward and nursery on our front porch for a solid month. The Robbin’s were harder to get pics of b/c they were up high. I had to use a step stool to gab their pics. They grew up so fast. The mom and dad were so attentive, but they spooked so easily. What a blessing to watch these little ones go from egg to fledgling and then leaving the nest.

A little Finch made a nest in the fern by my front door - 4 little eggs appeared (one at a time over a 4 day period). Then, we were blessed with the opportunity to watch them grow. From eggs to flying the nest took less than a month. I really enjoyed watching the mom and dad take such great care of their little ones.

Well - April came and went. Ladies 30 for 30 classes started, Spring OP36 (Thursday and Saturday) classes and Wednesday Golf and Giggles classes are all running strong. I have played in a few PGA Monday events, teaching a lot of private lessons and got connected with Arccos. I know have my own Arccos Air and Smart Laser and can’t wait to share the details of this with you all. April went by so fast and I can’t wait for May to start. It’s GOLF season!!!!

I had a great lesson with Breanna this weekend.

Ball Flight Problem- low and left with fairway metal. No launch angle = no carry.

Swing Issue - reverse pivot at top (upper body to far forward at top of backswing) causing a very steep angle of attack.

Solution - We worked on her diagonal pattern at top of backswing. Getting upper body behind her lower body at the top. Left shoulder to left foot had to be a diagonal line. Not stacked left shoulder over left foot.

WOW - she launched that fairway metal. Her 5 wood was carrying 185-109 yds in the air and rolling out to 210 +/- a few yards.

I am so proud of her. She listens, is open to feedback and works very hard.

What a fun afternoon volunteering at Bristol Elementary to teach golf to the students. Thanks to PGA Gateway for setting up the opportunity. The students attended three class rooms: 1) swing 2) agronomy 3) equipment. A fantastic day for Gateway PGA.
