☀️🥋 RISE STRONG THIS SUMMER! 🥋☀️

Summer is a time for vacations, camps, family trips, and making memories—but it doesn't have to mean putting your martial arts journey on pause!

Beginning June 21, we'll be launching our Rise Strong Summer Challenge, giving students fun ways to stay engaged, earn recognition, and continue building momentum throughout the summer.

We'll also be offering flexible summer training options, including:
✅ Regular classes
✅ Morning class opportunities
✅ Private lessons
✅ Zoom training
✅ One-day-per-week membership options

Our goal is simple:

Rising Phoenix Families,

This is a friendly reminder that our Mother’s Day Class is happening tomorrow, Friday, May 8 from 5:00–6:00 PM!

We’re inviting all students—all ages and ranks—to bring a special woman in their life to train alongside them. Moms, grandmothers, aunts, nannies, and any mother figures are all welcome to join in the fun. No experience is needed—just come ready to move, laugh, and share a memorable experience together on the mat.

Please note that this will be our only class of the day, so we hope to see as many families there as possible!

Let’s celebrate the incredible women who support, encourage, and help us rise strong every day. We’re looking forward to a fun and meaningful class together!

🔥 Black Belt Test Weekend is Here! 🔥

A quick reminder of everything happening at Rising Phoenix this weekend as our candidates enter the final stages of their journey:

Friday – Phase 3 (Tonight!)
⏰ 5:30–8:00 PM
There are no regular classes tonight as we focus on Phase 3 of our Black Belt Test.

Intermediate & Advanced students are invited to join us around 6:00 PM to spar with our candidates (please bring full sparring gear). Your support helps push them to dig deep and rise to the challenge!

Saturday – Final Black Belt Test
⏰ 9:00 AM–12:00 PM (Doors open at 8:15 AM)

Please be mindful of parking:

Leave spaces in front of neighboring businesses open
Staff/Instructors: please park in the back
Seating inside will be limited

🎉 Saturday Evening – Black Belt Ceremony & Potluck
⏰ 5:00–7:00 PM

Candidates should arrive in full uniform and bring a change of clothes for after the ceremony (no eating in uniform).

Our Phoenix Proving Grounds: Forms & Weapons Showcase is happening THIS Sunday… and we’ve extended registration for a couple more days!

We still have room in multiple divisions, and this is one of the BEST experiences for students to grow.

This isn’t just a tournament—it’s a chance to:
✔ Step outside your comfort zone
✔ Build real confidence
✔ Perform with pride under pressure
✔ Grow stronger as a martial artist

Tonight is a special evening at Rising Phoenix!

At 6:00 PM tonight, we will be holding our Belt Ceremony, recognizing the hard work and achievements of students who tested this past week.

This ceremony will be especially meaningful, as it will be our first ever combined Belt Ceremony for both Taekwondo and Kumdo students. We are excited to celebrate the growth and progress happening across both programs and to recognize the dedication our students have shown in their training.

Families and students are welcome to join us as we celebrate their accomplishments and the next steps in their martial arts journey.

The Phoenix Proving Grounds: Forms & Weapons Showcase will take place on Sunday, March 22 at 1:00 PM.

This in-school event is a great opportunity for students to:

Experience a tournament environment in a familiar setting

Build confidence performing in front of judges

Demonstrate the forms and weapons skills they’ve been working hard to develop

If you’ve been considering participating, today is the deadline to register.

People say you’ll never use Taekwondo in the real world.

Clearly they’ve never had to buy Nee-Dohs for their daughter.

This morning required all five Tenets of Taekwondo at the same time:

Indomitable Spirit

I haven't needed that level of discipline since trying to buy toilet paper during COVID.
