51st Annual Long Island I.B.E.W. William J. Lindsay Softball Tournament Recap

We had another successful LI IBEW Softball Tournament, our 51st, hosted by Local 3, 25, and 1049 IBEW.

This year's tournament weekend consisted of Friday's Golf Outing and HR Derby, Saturday's Pool Play, and Sunday's Championship Bracket Play.

The Softball Committee recognized two individuals no longer with us this year. Greg Camputuro, long time player and manager of Local 90 New Haven, CT and Jimmy Ryan of Local 3 A and Senior Team. Jimmy Ryan played in this tournament for over 40 years. Both passed away in 2022.

Local 1049 reported that member Edis Rene Maldonado, had been killed in an accident on the job the previous week. A moment of silence was held for all three. A collection was taken for Edis who leaves behind a wife and three children.

Arrangements are already underway for the 52nd L.I. I.B.E.W. Tournament. Please save the date. August 25,26, and 27th 2023.

Brotherhood Trophy - All Brothers from all teams attending the manager's meeting for their donations to the two IBEW brothers who died the previous week while working on a Line Job in Connecticut. $1,700 raised and two checks for $850 in their names were mailed by Local 1049.
