🔥 Team Outcast Weekend Recap – Firebird Raceway 🔥
What a weekend of highs, challenges, and valuable lessons at Firebird Raceway!
Friday: Dillyn laid down an impressive 7.36 @ 199 MPH. After a strong pass like that, we tore the engine down for inspection and found a few parts that needed attention. Don't worry—repairs are already underway, and Dillyn will be back in action to complete his final license pass in Spokane!
Saturday: Pete was ready to put on a show.
His first qualifying pass was a stellar 6.77 @ 189 MPH, earning him the #1 Qualifier spot. Looking at the MPH and ET, it's clear Pete was doing some driving and calculating down track to stay as close to the 6.75 index as possible.
The crew hustled to get the car cooled down, serviced, and turned around in a short amount of time for the next round.
Unfortunately, during Pete's second pass, the car experienced a severe tire shake during the burnout. We believe the violent shake cracked a clamp, and when Pete launched and later lifted to stay close to the 6.75 index, the breather tube came off with Pete running a 6.88 @171 MPH. The result was oil on the track, bringing the run to an immediate end and resulting in a disqualification.
While that's never how you want a race day to end, we completely understand the decision. Track cleanup takes time away from the show and impacts everyone involved. We appreciate the professionalism and understanding shown by the Firebird Raceway fire crew and track officials. The consequences could have been much more severe, and we're grateful for how the situation was handled.
The good news? New clamps have already been ordered, and Team Outcast will be ready to roll at Qlispé Raceway in Spokane!
