All good things come to an end, and now is that time for Total Woman/FitZone Bakersfield.

There are so many cliche’s. For everything there is a time, a season, and a reason. When one door closes another opens, and on and on.

There is no time to look back, look forward and forge a new path. I whole-heartedly believe in all these time tested and proven cliche’s. Life is an ever evolving force. Change is good and I have always liked change, even to a fault! I am excited about the next chapter of my life.

Before I give the gym/studio its memorial I want to say that everything is for sale!

OPEN HOUSE THIS WEEKEND. 9:30-4:00 TOMORROW. I will post Sunday Hours tomorrow.

Come by to pick up equipment, hand weights, Kettlebells, bands, tubes, Bosus, Med Balls, treadmills, GRAVITY, ellipticle, spin bikes, recumbent bikes and MUCH MUCH more. Or come by just to say hi!

I will post more about my future plans in the next couple of days. For now I need to concentrate on clearing out the facility.

If you know Gym or Studio owners who would also like to pick up not only equipment, but business items like copier, phones, microphone, stereo, office supplies, etc. please pass it on.

It was a great 33 years (well most of them!). I couldn’t have imagined or asked for a life that suited me more than owning/operating, but mostly teaching and training at TW all those years. I met so many wonderful people, did what I loved, and loved what I did. I won’t get sappy right now, but to all of you that were a part of TW and my life, THANK YOU!

Great reunion to celebrate the life of our friend, insrtuctor, and more. It is just a shame that it is in sorrow that we come together. 32 years of bonds here, some new, some not so new, and some renewed.

Thank you PJ for your love of your members and for bringing us all together in your honor. I KNOW you saw this snd are smiling😍

So tomorrow, Sunday Jan 22, 2023 we will celebrate the life of our friend and cohort PJ (Pat) Johnson.

The bright colors denote the way the day will go, a celebration of life, a memorial, a time to come together and remember. We will mourn our loss and rejoice in her passing on to the next, and better place.

When we pass it is those left behind that grieve. Our time on earth is done and the sadness is for those left behind.

So for PJ we will remember, reflect, laugh, and maybe cry a little. But we will be together and know that someday our paths will cross with PJ again, and the ones we have all lost.

If you are able to come tomorrow, come with your memories, stories, love, laughter and prayers. (And maybe a dish or spirit!)

Very much looking forward to having all those who loved PJ being together to celebrate the life of a beautiful, dedicated soul.

Update and Plans
Happy Friday 13th! Hopefully it doesn’t live up to its name 😩

I have really been struggling about what to do for PJ. At this time the family has no plans to have a service in Bakersfield. PJ is still with the Coroner and they are terribly backed up. I don’t know if they will plan something when she is released or not.

In the meantime what I have decided to do is a Celebration of Life for PJ amongst us, her fitness family. It will be very informal and simple. Just a chance for us to come together to remember our friend, share stories, and reconnect with each other. This will not be published anywhere, except here and on my facebook. It is by no means the official funeral. But I feel the need to get together and say goodbye to PJ together. You are certainly welcome to invite anyone you like.

When & Where:

3:00 at the gym (Total Woman as you know it!) on Sunday January 22. As I said, nothing fancy. You can bring your memories, and any food or beverage you wish. Bring any pictures or memorabilia and we will eat, drink, and merrily toast to a life well lived! If you are good at making videos or reels, please do, let me know and we can play them.

RSVP would be great so I have an idea of how many to expect. It is a good ‘ole Pot Luck. Will start at 3:00 and go until the last story is told. I am truly looking forward to seeing you all.

It is with great sorrow that I share this information. Our beloved PJ (Patircia Johnson) has left this world and thus left so many of behind in shock and disbelief, and SORROW.

I had high hopes for the New Year, but it started with the loss of a dear friend and instructor/trainer.

She was so dedicated to the gym and the members. There was no end of her desire to teach and share fitness with the members. She was so dedicated to her craft and to her people.

A 20 year relationship that began when she was a member taking Body Pump. She became in instructor and was a natural. Body Pump, Body Combat, and Body Flow, she loved them all. Most recently she was my savior as a GRAVITY instructor extraordinaire!

I truly don’t know what I will do without her. I have been avoiding posting this information because honestly I just don’t think I wanted to make it real.

Love you and will miss you terribly PJ, may you truly Rest In Peace!

Hello out there! This is Leigh Henderson Pozas. I have not posted in a while, but thought I would check in with you all. Send me some messages and let me know how you are doing.

It is such a shame that the very thing that can help prevent either getting the virus or at least minimize its impact is overlooked and virtually shut down, well you can do it virtually jus not live and in person, EXERCISE.

Living a healthy lifestyle including nutrition, exercise, and yes socialization are important factors in limiting the chance of contracting disease or at least speeding up recovery from diseases, virus and bacteria.

I wanted to share this article from a leading organization in the health and fitness industry. What we can and can’t do, what we are “allowed to do and not do” by our government bosses doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

It seems if it makes you healthy, happy, pretty, or feel good the answer is NO. If it promotes poor health, apathy, agitation, or spending money at big corporate business it ALLOWED.

JUST FOOD FOR THOUGHT.
