With a distinguished career as a former professional tennis player and over 25 years of teaching experience, I, Regina Csibi, bring a deep passion and a wealth of expertise to the court. My journey in tennis began in Hungary, where I emerged as a top junior and open player, achieving numerous accolades including Hungarian National Junior Champion in singles and doubles, two-time Hungarian National
Team Champion, two-time NCAA Doubles National Champion, USTA Open National Champion, and a four-time All-American. I am also honored to have been the first player to remain undefeated in CCAA tennis history in both singles and doubles throughout my college career. Holding degrees in High Performance Coaching from the prestigious Semmelweis University of Medicine and Sport Sciences, and in Psychology from California State University, Bakersfield, my transition from player to coach was fueled by a desire to impart my knowledge and love for the game to the next generation. My coaching career spans from nurturing competitive junior players to guiding collegiate athletes at California State University Bakersfield and Bakersfield College, alongside my continued work with juniors at Seven Oaks Country Club. My philosophy centers on developing a player's technical, physical, and mental skills, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the game that empowers them for long-term success. This program caters to a broad spectrum of players, from young children discovering the sport to competitive juniors and high school athletes aspiring to college scholarships. Through my own fond memories of growing up in the tennis world, I am dedicated to helping the youth of Bakersfield discover the joy and opportunities tennis offers, along with the invaluable life skills it teaches. As the landscape of tennis evolves, so too has my role within it. I have expanded my services to include consulting and mentoring, offering tailored support for both players and parents. This new direction encompasses short, mid, and long-term training and tournament planning, mental coaching, and college preparation. I am particularly passionate about assisting international students in navigating the complexities of the U.S. educational and athletic scholarship system, ensuring they have the guidance needed to succeed. At Regina Csibi Tennis, we offer private and group lessons, junior drills, and fitness and conditioning sessions, designed to meet the individual needs of each player. My team and I also support adult USTA players and teams in their competitive endeavors. This diverse range of services underscores my commitment to enhancing the tennis community in Bakersfield and beyond, ensuring players of all levels can achieve their goals, stay active, and enjoy the game. I take immense pride in my dedication to tennis and to the students and community I have had the privilege to serve over the years. My journey from a competitive player to a coach and now a mentor and consultant, reflects my evolving contribution to the sport I love, with a constant focus on uplifting and inspiring the next generation of tennis talent.
