If you missed the opening ceremonies, here it is in still moments of heightened emotions and a moment of grief and pain and heartbreak and loss and a little shimmer of hope.

Tonight we retired a jersey for the first time in Bakersfield Train Robbers history. Tonight we honored a teammate. Tonight we held space for a host family that adopted two boys sight unseen last year and fell in love. Tonight we were allowed to feel together as a team.

#26 will forever be tied to the legacy of Nick Danbrowney and the mark he left here in Bakersfield.
