The main purpose of the Bob Buquor Memorial Star Crest is the advancement of relative work skydiving. Thus, the perpetual Star Crest Awards program was born.

The BBMSC was formed to recognize relative work skydivers for in-air achievements and to honor the memory of RW pioneers Bob Buquor and Bill Newell. The original purpose for forming the Star Crest in 1967 was to record and preserve for parachuting history, the accomplishments of Bob Buquor and the twenty or so skydivers who had participated in an 8-way star. As time passed and more skydivers becam

e capable of forming 8-way and larger formations Bill Newell saw no reason to include them on a "Special Roaster." Unfortunately Bill Newell passed away August 5th 2012 which was the 45th anniversary year that he created BBMSC. Bill and his legendary skydiving club is now memorialized by his daughter Rachael Newell Machado & son-in-law John Machado.
