Hagens Berman Cycling Team

Our team is focused on competitive road, mountain, track and cyclocross racing in the Pacific Northwest. We strive to win and have fun.

Our foundation is a team-oriented model where experienced riders share knowledge to develop riders from beginners to potential future professional cyclists through our related pro-am and professional continental teams. In addition to racing, members are encouraged to be active in the club and assist in the club's operations and projects. Towards the development of individual members, members receive the following benefits:
• Organized group training rides and the opportunity to find training partners. Guidance for a detailed annual training plan tailored to a member's individual abilities and goals.
• Coaching in physical training, cycling skills, and racing tactics and strategy.
• Financial support in the form of equipment discounts from sponsors and reimbursement for selected race fees and travel.

So about last night. WTNB Night at Pacific Raceways, sponsored by Hagens Berman and , brought out a record-setting 32 (!!!) racers for a pre-race skills clinic, a beginner-friendly race, and a post-race debrief/hangout complete with cookies and refreshments.

For a lot of those 32, it was their first race ever, but any pre-race nerves turned into big post-race smiles. Racing is better with more people in it, and the WTNB field was the second largest field of the night 🔥🔥

Huge thanks to Craig Undem for leading the clinic, and to everyone who made the journey down to PR - racing or supporting. We couldn’t have done this without you.

Sat Sept 12, 9:15 at the Leschi Starbucks - rolling out at 9:30. It's our annual Meet the Team Ride.

A social, no-drop lap around the south end of Lake Washington so you get the chance to know us better + an optional lap of Mercer Island to stretch your legs. Post-ride food at Hap's on the island - burgers, fries, and shakes! Perfect for recovery. This is open to riders of all ages and all abilities.

We're actively recruiting for our growing women's squad + our development (new racer) squad. But whether you're lining up for your first race or you've been around awhile, there's a place for you here.

Cliche, but "TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK". The squad showed up for the Tune-Up Crit hosted by .and.b.bike this past Saturday. They raced hard, worked well together, and got some great results. Couldn't ask for a better day on the bike. Stoked for this weekend!!!!

Are you a WTNB rider and interested in dipping your toes in bike racing? Come learn with us at Pacific Raceways! On Tuesday, August 25, we'll be hosting a WTNB beginner skills clinic, followed by a friendly race.

6:00 PM: Beginner Race Clinic. Free to attend with race registration - we want to keep everyone safe with rider insurance, which is included in the race reg. Group riding, cornering, holding a wheel, race etiquette. Led by Craig Undem, founder of Cycle University (2013–19), sharing his best racing tips from 40 years of racing and coaching riders of all skill levels.

6:45 PM: WTNB Race. 30 minutes on two miles of closed, car-free pavement.

Post-race debrief with snack and raffle prizes.

$10 entry + $15 USAC one-day license. Day-of reg is available, but please pre-reg to save us paperwork. Limited free entries available - cost shouldn't keep you out, just DM us.

Okay, okay. One last post about Chloe and Baker City Cycling Classic , because this story is close to our hearts.

Chloe’s uncle, Nathan Hobson, founded this stage race, originally the Elkhorn Classic, back in 2001. In the early years, promoting it was a massive family affair - they did everything from sweeping corners to handing out neutral bottles. Chloe grew up watching her dad and uncles race these roads, so having her participate (and win!) was a dream come full circle.

The Hobson family is still a pillar in the Baker City community, and use the race as an opportunity to have an annual reunion with family and friends. Nathan and Claire sponsor several primes during the downtown crit.

Cycling is truly a community sport, and we couldn't have done it without the entire clan. This was Chloe’s first year of road racing, and her parents haven’t missed a single event all season. They don't just support her; they cheer on the entire team and the local peloton. We are so lucky to have all of them.

WHAT A WEEKEND. The squad braved rain, wind, and the cold to race 200 miles over three days at Baker City Cycling Classic. In a race where finishing is an accomplishment in itself, had a stunning performance with wins in the time trial and the 100 mile Dooley Mountain stage, and overall GC in the Womens 3/4/5 category. also took 4th in Masters 35+ 1/2/3 GC and was 3rd in the downtown crit. Huge thank you to for hosting a great race full of suffering and smiles. We'll be back next year...after we lay on the couch for a week.

Scenes from last week's Volunteer Park Criterium. It was a perfect day for bike racing and we had a great squad out. Chloe took 🥈 in Women's Cat 3/4 and a BOATLOAD of primes from being solo off the front for most of the race, and Ben Siler 🥉 in Masters 35+ 1/2/3. Thanks to Taco Time NW Cycling Team for hosting such a fun day.

Last Sunday, it was actually at Enumclaw Crit p/b Apex. It was a day of hard racing, great vibes... and the best burger food truck a block away from the course. And the mountain was out. Couldn't get any better. Congrats to Chad Sailer for 🏅 in the Masters 50+ 3/4/5 field and Felipe Nystrom for 🥉 in Masters 40+ 1/2/3 field! Next up - Volunteer Park. We'll see you on Saturday!

Two weeks ago.
Dirty Bloom 50 - done and dusted.✔️

At 50 miles and 8,500 ft of vert, Washington's current premier XCM event delivered on it's promise of relentless climbs, peaking balsamroot, and ripping singletrack.

The HB MTB squad answered the call to race - lining up, digging deep, and leaving everything out in the beautiful Wenatchee countryside. Solid work all!

April photo dump ~

Smiles everywhere.

The weekly grind is back - Monday PIR, Tuesday PR, Wednesday Night Worlds and Mt. Tabor, and Thursday Seward. Plus weekend races all over the PNW. Sasquatch Duro, Gran Fondo Ephrata, Mudslinger XC, Ravensdale Spring Classic, Banana Belt RR, Cascadia Super Gravel and Gorge Gravel.

In between? Team rides with puppies, Costco hot dogs, and absolute hammer fests on the bike.

We covered so much ground, and the nice weather has barely started ☀️
