Watching the fish coming into the Boothbay Harbor Challenge and our friend Alan Dugas, along with Casco bay Tuna club board member Trevor Walls on FV Rolling Stone, has a whopper.

We opened the 84th Annual Bailey Island Fishing Tournament Awards with a very special presentation: the inaugural Chris McIntire "First to the Scales" Memorial Award.
This award honors the parents, grandparents, and mentors who launch the boat a little earlier—not just to chase fish, but to share a sunrise and pass their love of fishing on to the next generation.
It was only fitting that the first recipient be Chris' own son, Clifford, who has been the first angler to the scales for the past three years. In this video, Chris' wife, Margaret, shares the story behind the accidental tradition that inspired this meaningful award.
