Will of the Warrior

Will of the Warrior Our program guides each Warrior to gain the 3 most important elements of all champion boxers, a healthy body, mind and spirit.

The Will of the Warrior Program is a 501c(3) non profit that supports active, reserve and disabled veterans and first responders who suffer from PTSD and/or physical ailments through boxing training and/or comaraderie programs. The Will of the Warrior Program is dedicated to assist veterans and first responders to recover both mentally and physically from their missions utilizing the sweet science of Boxing. This is achieved through the use of heavy bag and mitt work, balance techniques, core building, conditioning workouts, nutritional guidance, and confidence building. We also know first hand that transitioning to civilian life and work is difficult therefore if a Warrior shows a desire to pursue a career as a boxing coach or fitness instructor, Will of the Warrior will give them the opportunity to do so by helping to fund study materials and exam costs, provide a safe environment for training and learning, and assist in finding employment.

And this is why I love our community. Over the past 6 months, we have been working dilligently at Fort Soul, our Will of the Warrior Veterans' retreat and with our local military youth as part of our WOW Youth Rodeo Team...As well as several other one on one training programs with our local disabled Veterans. This has left us with very little time for normal day to day taskings.

One of the simplest yet most important tasks is ensuring our U.S. Flag is properly displayed and sharp. We realized ours was tattered, and ordered a new one. This morning it did arrive, but here's the good part...

Today upon arrival at Warriors' Call this afternoon, Vitali found a letter (posted here) from a local Veteran family regarding the status of our American flag. We are grateful we have Veterans and Veteran family members who have our backs and take the time out to recognize and notify us of our flag's status. Unfortunately the letter was not signed or we would have certainly thanked them personally.

This is just another reason why our community is amazing. While others are burning, tearing, and stomping on our flag our community members are hoisting them and taking the time to ensure they are pristine so that we may all be proud of this great country.

So to the family member or Veteran who took the time to remind us...Thank you for having our back!
