After having the opportunity to watch a lot of youth sports this year, I noticed a real need for young athletes to better understand the basic fundamentals of basketball.
Too often, kids are stepping on the court without confidence in the core skills of the game â dribbling, passing, shooting, finishing at the rim, defensive movement, and overall basketball IQ. When those foundational skills are missing, the game can quickly become frustrating and overwhelming for a young athlete.
Iâve also saw a huge need for kids to build a stronger athletic foundation. Itâs surprising how many young athletes go through an entire season without ever being taught how to do a basic push-up . Learning how to move well, build strength, and develop body control is a huge part of long-term athletic development.
Thatâs exactly why I created this camp.
This program is designed to help middle school athletes become:
âą more skilled
âą more confident
âą stronger
âą and more prepared when they step on the court
Over these 6 weeks, athletes will learn basketball fundamentals, basic strength and conditioning, and how to make better, faster decisions in game situations.
Most importantly, this camp is an opportunity for athletes to grow, improve, and build confidence in what they are capable of.
Iâm also excited to have Philly basketball standout Jesse Morgan as part of this camp. His high-level playing experience, basketball knowledge, and ability to teach the game will be a major asset for these athletes and will help take this program to another level.
Weâre both excited to get started and look forward to seeing each athleteâs progress from start to finish.
See you all Sunday.
